I was wondering how you would remove the press any key to continue from the loading screen. I know the other screen where it shows the other players loading times doesn't have it, but I wanted to have text in mine. I think Tides of Blood (www.tidesofblood.com) have managed to do this, but their map is locked (understandably). I'm using the Generic Campaign screen at the moment. |

Is there any way I can run a trigger during the loading screen? I tried creating a trigger to Game - Force Player to press a key during Map Initialization, but that didn't work. I think that trigger ran when the game was already loaded. |

If you want text on there, one simple thing you can do is take the loadscreen file from the mpq, edit the top right section to have the text you want, and import it back into the map, if you use blp's a high quality one should only be about 150kb or so. |

Yeah, I kinda don't want to add an extra 150k to my map, its big enough as it is (270 Kb). |

Alot of maps are alot bigger than that, most people add alot of pointless stuff just to show off their abilities that they learn from these forums and stuff. Personal I hate waiting like 5 mins to download a map that would take 30 secs without all the extra crap on it. |

270k is NOT big! 8) |

I think its big enough, especially when my DSL connection only lets me upload at 8kB/s. |

lol 8kb/s what kind of dsl is that i mean a isdn is faster you should really change dsl provider and you can easely have a map at 270kb its nothing btw my dsl gos up to 50kb/s |

I'm from Australia, that should explain everything! But anyway, this thread is kind of diverging from the topic... |

Dont add extra stuff unless you have to. custom loading screens add approximatly 100 kb, usually never worth it. |

In theory. The first problem is cached files, among which are the loading screens. The other lame things is the melee loading model, UI\Glues\MapLoadScreen\MapLoadScreen.mdx, which doesn't exist in any of the .mpq's. Anyway, you can export one of the models and use the default melee with text put on in photoshop or something, but people will only see it if it's the first map using that model they play. Messing with the Game Interface options may help with this. |
