Hello! I know how to replace skins and textures in the game, but I want to add a copy of a model and add a custom skin too it. I know there is a .BLP path in the .MDX-files, but how to reach it? I tried the "MdxTextEditor" but it wont let me change it, as soon as I change it (if Im not doing it right maybe?) it gets back to original again! My idea is too copy headhunter and make it green and then call it greentroll.mdx and greentroll.blp (my little mod) and place it in the war3patch.mpq, but the headhuntergreen.mdx still reads the orginal path to headhunter (texture\headhunter.blp) in the war3x.mpq and not to mine (custom\greentroll.blp) in the war3patch.blp! What program can I use to change the .BLP path in the .MDX modelfiles? I would be really greatful if you could answer this one, I wont bother you anymore then... |

You didn't need to do that, StracraftFreak made an installation program that extracts those files from the original MPQ file, where they're stored for checkings. you could also Hex-edit the models. |
