Changing Unit Models w/triggers?

Many of you probably know the game mini-gunners. Well I took it upon myself and have added 3 out of my 4 planned additional units (Earth Gunner, Medic Gunner, Sword Gunner, and soon Wind Gunner)

Here is where my problem lies Bladestorm is on my Sword Gunner, along with Critical Hit, Evasion, and Pulverize (which I am not sure if it works, very hard to tell and if not apart of the problem)

Whenever I go to use it Bladestorm does nothing or is at least not viewable. I know it works with BM model just to make sure it wasn't some other bug.

Now is there a way to make a trigger that checks for when an ability is used and changes the model to it temporarily and then back?

I know there is the unit-replace and time elapsed triggers but would they be able to solve this problem? How exactly would I be able to do this? Would I have to make the trigger activate a replacement unit of a BM set at level 6, which is ordered to use bladestorm and after 6.1 seconds reverts back to the Sword Gunner of the same level, experience, items, etc. Any other solutions?

Also is there anyway for the model to change to the tauren just for pulverize or is that a whole other story since it works off of randomness.

As a side note, I found that even if there are 2 abilities overlapping if one of them is something like an aura/passive and the other is activated, then you can use both.

Nope. But most custom gamers are aware blade storm works but isn't visible.

There's a possibility for elaborate work arounds...but I wouldn't bother. It'd be a ton of trigger work for very little pay off. You could also just have the gunner use the BM model to begin with... a long distance projectile attacking BM....hell yes! :)
