MDX Trouble...

Ok, the long story short: I used that script to export a model from 3D Studio Max into MDX format. Everything works perfectly fine, except: No matter what I do, the model is always in the exact same position as in the original file. I took the buckler from the Bandit, flipped it around, moved it about 5000 away from the origin, etc, and then exported it. And it's in the same position it would be if I were staring at the Bandit's model.

So I tried exporting to a 3DS, and then converting to an MDX. But unforunately, whatever tool it is you have here on your site, always crashes when it tries to convert. So neither of them works. I have a feeling I'm missing something with the first one, but I've tried a load of crap and NOTHING has worked...

You must reset the pivot point to (0, 0, 0) after you move it. Try pressing "Transforms" in the "Reset" group in the hierarchy panel after moving the mesh with the mesh selected. If that doesnt work, press "Affect Pivot" in the same panel and move the pivot to (0, 0, 0).

See, that's the problem exactly... I've already done that to no avail. The vertices remain in the same spot.

I think it's a problem with the export script, but the trouble is I can't find another one anywhere (I'm using 3DS Max 4.2 and KMK's Import/Export script). I'd do a different method, but like I said, it always crashes the MDX - MDL converter I have whereas this way doesn't.

See, I have the shield centered at 0,0 with its pivot point, and everything looks fine in 3DSMax, but once I export it it goes right back to the vertex coordinates it had before. I even deleted every copy of the MDX/MDL on my hard drive before doing that, same thing.

I guess what I really need is a better export script or something...
