Basicly I want to make the protoss archon ability....and i KNOW its gonna require triggers...at least im pretty sure...any suggestions? |

Couldn't you just use Mount Hippograph and simply not provide the resulting unit the Dismount ability? Mount Hippograph takes 2 units (not sure if they can be the same or not) and replaces them with a new unit. |

Already tried that. the 'new' mount hipp doesnt have a choose resulting unit, and the 'old' very specificly requires a hipp and an archer, and theres no way to change it. note I'm trying also to fuse two of the same unit together...it would work if not for that darned 'must target hippogriff' or 'archer'. |

Use the "new" abilites... Infact it only requires one... Pick up Archer or Mount Hippgryph: Data - Partner Unit Type Data - Resulting Unit Type |

ok, that is BIZZARE.....I choose 'new custom ability' based on mount hyppogriff and the new ability has removed the 'target unit' and stuff.... |

Yeah, I couldn't get it to work by making a custom ability using the editor either... But here's an example by editing the in-place ones. |

I think there is a bug with WE preventing that from working at the moment. I hope next patch will fix it. For now you could either try to replicate the effects by trigger and a skill that does nothing or you could go back to actual slk editing. Maybe there is some workaround in the WE possible too. |

Alright, if you want to do this with a tirgger you have to do somehting like this. I pray that the unit you want to do this to isn't a hero because that would be pretty hard. Ability Is being casted Ability is equal to Meld Target of issued order is blah unit Target of issued order is matching color Remove casting unit from the game Change target of issued order to unit blah. Now I'm not positivley sure if this will work, but in theory it should. As I don't have the we open I can't see if some of the parts of the trigger are possible but if they are all there something of this nature should work |

ummm, uless you want the units to be heros, then this is extreamly easy. Just edit the archer and hippogrif units to look, sound and act the exact same way. You can change their modles, sounds, skills and all that stuff without acculy changing the unit, if you made sure to leave all the string it should work fine, then just edit the hippo archer to be the unit you want as well and volia! EDIT: to disable dismount simply make it cost a bunch of mana(over the units maximum) witch wont mess up the abil while diallowing dismount. |

No that wouldn't work because the archons come from 2 of the same unit, an archer and a hippo are not the same unit (in other words you'd have to build 2 different units, even if they look/act the same) |

hmmmm, that is true, there might be a way to fix this... hmmm WAIT! I have an idea that wouldnt be PERFECT but would be better than nothing, you have those untis that I last described but make a new unit(stats not matter) with just the build tooltip that makes two of(templars or whatever) and a trigg that replaces that unit with one hippo and 1 archer this way ued at least always have = amount, this is the best thing I can think of.. |

Just turn self off the targets...it might crash the game if you leave self on ;) Hunter, incase you weren't reading the resta the thread the question had already been answered (at least as far as I could tell...) |
