Hybrid Maps - Set To Be The Next Map Generation?

What do you think about hybrid maps being the next generation of ums maps?

I personally, god this is getting old to type ://// emote_sweat, am making an DoTa type map, Capture the flag, and RPG oreinted hybrid map (actually 3, hopefully, that is if I can get some help :D *wink wink*).

Just pondering what everyone else feels like, since this is the best place for: help, expertise, and everything else you can imagine about map making and the whole shibang!

hmm spells... I can help with that. Or maybe I can as I have SOME experiance in spells.

yea sure, im goood at terraining, if thats what you mean. Im also good at spell Ideas, and Have a little exp in actual spell making, so I cant help with spells. Unless you want me to.. or maybe pm me a spell idea and ill see if I can make it?

I totally agree that hybrids will be taking over soon. My map, The Eleventh Hour is already incorporating things like capture the flag and some hero arena elements into a DotA/AoS platform.

From what I've heard the new Creatures of the Night developped by daemonkiller and dakan(sorry if I misspelled), will be a hybrid, with different styles of play in it =), so yea.

When I think about it, the only way for some maps to get better, like AoS types, is to become kinda hybrids. In fact, the AoS I'm working on has different elements from other genres. So maybe hybrids will become popular.

I have been working on a Capture the Flag map for a while now. It incorporates the RPG quest, item, leveling feel, and the AoS battle style. I just have a little trouble with triggers so it takes me a bit to get the stuff to work right.

Right Now im about 40-45% done with it. Most of the triggers, abilities, heroes, and items are done. I just need to make the side-quest like things, a few uncoverable secrets, and make the terrain pretty.

It all depends on the first Hybrid maps, They need to be good to be the next boom. After that New Hybrid maps need to appear (And they need to be sucky as hell) And battle.net will be their kingdom, until someone gets a new idea like Clowns Vs Nerds maps
