Demon Hunter: Transparency & Team Color

I've been editing a Demon Hunter just to get a feel for modding and the like, but one problem has arisen. I want to add some team color to his “blindfold but normally the model makes it transparent. I have my mdl file ready but I can't seem to get anything to work. I'm completely new to modeling so a lot of this is above my head (I've read some tutorials here). Can somebody point me in the right direction? I think I know how to switch a model from being transparent or team color, but not in certain areas only (some of my model is alphaed out). Oh and if possible could you explain how the change worked since I'd rather learn things than be spoon fed answers. Thanks.

P.S. I'm just wondering is there some way you modelers know what series of geoset code applies to what area of the model or is it trial and error?

*Bump*
Uhhh... is there something wrong with my question? *Sigh* It seems I can never get an answer out of these boards.

U cant use both transparents area and team color area on the same geoset (the blindfold for instance)..
In order to do that, u have 2 solutions:

1- You would have to split the blindfold mesh in 2 parts:
-One part with transparent area, but no team color (like the border of the blindfold)
-One part with the team color assigned

2-Just try to get the blindfold mesh to look right without using transparency.... so it can then use the alpha channel for teamcolor

I hope it answer your question, PM me if its not clear :)

Hmmm... Well, I'm not sure how to add in team colour on to something other than having separate skins in which you colourize the blindfold accordingly... That is the way I do it, since I found that problem while trying to give the Forest Trolls face paint that went with their team.
