Yep, with 15 levels and a lot of bug fixes, 2.2 is finally out!

Hope you have fun with this!

For those who don't know, Point Blank is an Arcade FPS with lots of mini-games.

Can you make a version where you're allowed to choose the games?

You can choose the games...But if I tell you how, it will ruin all the replay value on the map. Sorry ;)

I don't get it. How can people make games devoid of GAMEPLAY and have at least 20 hosted a day? I'm talking Dont move your panda/tauren/sheep sort of game here! Why do people insist on playing whatevermaul, don't move your ***, or those completely umbalanced footman wars? I just don't get it. I spent hours of work on creating an EXCELLENT map, and people just call it *** before even seeing the loading screen. This is just ridiculous.

This map is pretty much an equivalent of the luck based uther party, except in this, the better players WIN. People who can't read the 3 lines of instructions at the start of the game have no chance to win, but in uther party, even illiterate noobs can win. I just don't get it. Why do people insist on playing crappy games? WHY?

WHY? Because Battle.net people like cheap maps and nothing else.

Any good games that are hosted is probably hosted by a very intelligent person. And that's QUITE RARE, as I only see Burbenog about 5 times a day.

Enfos and Tides of Blood is practically the only decent games on Battle.net that is hosted regularly (not including Legacies, 'cause it's not hosted THAT MUCH). 50% of the Open RPGs suck, but people still play it. People host crappy ripoffs/copies of DOTA.

You gotta understand: People fear change. They haven't changed the fad of TDs since the beginning of the release of RoC. Everything is DEFENSE.

If people were looking for a deep and involving game they wouldn't be playing custom maps in the first place. The normal game has far more depth than many give it credit, and when kids get tired of getting beat down in that because they can't grasp some of the intricacies like good micro, they move on to custom maps where you usually only have to worry about easy stuff like building towers or controlling 1 hero :/

I love Legacies ToTS in a technical sense, it looks like it has had a ton of work put into it and I can't even begin to imagine how they did half of what they did, but it is so frustrating sometimes it isn't fun :(

The reason Footman Wars and TD maps are so popular is because it is so easy to find the most powerful *whatever* then rehost it and beat everyone else with a cheap trick.

Winning = fun (this is true for everyone :/ TELL ME you like losing, PLEASE)

going down in style is fun...

thats how it is -- the more interesting thing, is that Maul maps are cooperative games, where the goal is to collectively defend the back, yet people are adament about 'building remotely close to their areas'

my question is why TDs couldn't just be made single player, then you wouldn't have to bitch at your team for sucking while you rule, etc...

we'll see what happens when i host my map... erm, well, when i get around to finishing level 2

--> this is a little off topic, but since mech is in the thread, do you think i should add limited grenades to my map?

The only thing bnet kiddies enjoy more than winning is being better than someone else, so since most of these TD maps have scoreboards with number of kills on them (and every Footy War does) that need is easily fulfilled. Even if getting the most kills isn't the objective, they still have something to brag about.

It's not hard to win...All you have to do is read the damn instructions.

Strange...I get 136 views and only 42 downloads.

You're getting repeat views from people who are talking about Battle.net idiocy. :). Also, I'm not downloading, as I played 2.0. And if they're even remotely close, I would not enjoy playing it again. You have a good map, but there is a lot of waiting time between doing things, and frustration when things do not work as they should. These things may have been fixed, but the only minigame I truly enjoyed was going through the town, shooting random objects.

Most of the games in B.net involve mass killing, super-beefing your hero, or both. I guess that's what b.net demands, eh? Now, Magic The Gathering (MTG Arena from SC) was a good map, very good. And it was played a lot on BW. Making a good remake of that map would be awesome IMO. Bounds too, they were popular, but no brainers too. Still fun to make. Someone should make a "RPG Bound".

Well, there are a lot of new things compared to 2.0, I also decreased the wait time and solved a lot of bugs...And there are several new levels...Anyway...

I've been wondering if I should just stop working on this map...I mean, I hardly have any games hosted, even though I've hosted DL&leave games at least 10 times a day...I'm wondering if I should just quit.

I'd say make something that you are proud of, and then stop. If you are proud of how your map is now, then good. You can stop. If there's still things that bug you, fix them and move on. If you're asking if you should expand on what you have I'd say no.

well if you're in it to have people play your map, go make a TD or footman wars
