Forum Bugs

DraX
As a result of a small vulnerability we discovered earlier that was exploited by someone (we're still investigating), some of the hacks that were installed onto our forum are not currently working, as I had to restore some files with an unmodified version.

I will be upgrading our forums to most recent full release version of vBulletin and restoring the hacks we had used ASAP. In the interim, you may notice some bugs, such as incorrect forum orders, strange numbers appearing underneath the forum descriptions (a result of the previously implemented hack to add links and downloads information for Modifications and Campaigns), and some other occasional bugs.

We apologize for the inconvenience and I will be fixing these issues as soon as possible.

I'm well aware of that, thanks... my primary concern at the moment is getting all the main sites hosted here (WC3C, BE, WL, etc.) back up and running properly, then we'll take of the subdomains one by one.

He exploited a vulnerability that was no fault of our own and as a status thing to proove his own skills. It was not an attack specifically on wc3campaigns, there were many sites that he went after today.

Hackers do stuff like that as a way to proove their skill. It is also in ways a blessing in disguise as it allows system administrators to learn about security holes and fix them. Unfortunately, this time around, we were affected by this hacker's need to prove his worth, but at least we can insure it won't happen again.

Most hackers to tend to jsut want to proove themselves, not to deliberately attack someone. That is why he was so willing to let us know how he got in.
