ok there is 2 things that i need help with. the first one is, i need to kno how you change the text in the bar that shows how long your summons last time. like a water elemental has a bar that shows how long it lasts in the bar it says water elemental. i kno it can be done cause in the map tides of blood they did. the 2nd thing i need help in is that i have imported custom icons into my map and they all work cept for my level 6 spells they are green blocks for some reason so i used them on a level 1 spell and they worked good just not on the level 6 for some reason please help me. thank you for the support. |

For the second thing, green blocks happen if you don't have a Disabled version of your button. |

Ok.. personally I have never made a custom button, so if I sound off, or hard to understand, you know why. But. You must make 2 buttons, on is BTN---.blp and the other is DISBTN---.blp (where --- is the name of the button) The "Disabled" button is supposed to be a faded out darker version of the regular button (like a command button that you can't press). So to make it the easiest way would be to open your regular button, make the boarder black and then aply a new layer over the top that is black and adjust its opacity (prolly 50% or higher would be good) And save that as your disabled one. Then. (Ones with the "BTN" Prefix) Place these icons in the directory: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\ (Ones with the "DISBTN" Prefix) Place these icons in the directory: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\ |

wait wait wait... Ok im useing the frozen throne world edit and i used the importer to import my icons so i impoert 2 of the same icons which are called infest. so i rename one of them to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNInfest.blp and the other one to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\DISBTNInfest.blp then i use the spell editer in the frozen throne edit then go to Art - Icon - Normal and then select ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\DISBTNInfest.blp and put that there then... i go to Art - Icon - Researched then i select ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNInfest.blp ok then im done right? cause that is what im doing and it aint working! |

No, you don't need to select the DisBTN for anything. Set it to the enabled version and it will automatically use the disabled version when the button needs to be disabled (like when it is unavailiable to learn because your too low a level) Set both research and normal to the regural button. |

The only way is to edit the humanabilitystring.txt and the humanabilityfunc.txt datas. Simply open the war3.mpq with MPQ-View (If you don't have it then you really should download it!), extract the matching ability data and edit it the way you want. (Scroll down to 'summon water elemental' and change the bufftip from 'water elemental' to the one you want. After that, you have to import the txt into your map. Make sure the name of the data is really 'units\humanabilitystrings.txt' or it don't work! (Of course you can edit every bufftip like that. Simply extract the func and string data and edit it.) |
