I have been working on a Kings and Knights style map and decided to put the level limit up to 20. At first I I gave each hero the ability to raise their basic abilities to 4 and ultimates to 2 with stat boost skill (like from the Orc campaign) with enough levels to make the difference. I dedicded I may as well go up to 5/3 but it seems Blizzard didn't this kind of situation into account. All skills become unusable or unbalanced at level 5. Shadow strike is insta-kill. Feral spirit does nothing and the same is apparently true for Flame Strike. I assume almost all the rest are bugged. It seems like the duration fields (ie the length the Feral Spirits or Flame Strike should last or in Shadow Strike's case the intereval between damage) are being read as 0 even though they are NOT set at 0. Has anyone has this problem before and what is the fix? |

The problem: There's a bug (which "will be fixed in a future patch") that causes default values for abilities level 5 and higher to all load in as 0... The fix: This only happens with *default* values, so by changing every non-zero field (in the level 5+ area) to a non-default value, your spells will work again. A casting range of 900.01 is techincally different than 900.00, and no one will no the difference. |

Thank you very much for the quick response. I am also glad Blizzard is going to be fixing this. |

There is an easier way: Simply copy the spell so it is a custom one and the bug disappears. |

If Blizzard says it'll be fixed in a future patch, then naturally, you know it'll never happen. Anyway, I've been wondering something regarding this issue. Do you have to change ALL the values for every level after 5, or just the level 5 one? For example, if I wanted a spell to have 10 levels, would I have to change the cooldown for each level after level 5 for it to work, or would I only need to change it for level 5 and keep it the same? |
