'footprints' setting?

Where do I go to make a unit leave a specific kind of footprint behind? Evil illadan, for instace, leaves those lovely burning footprints and I'd love to add them to something else...

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that Evil Illidan's footprints are part of the Evil Illidan model... maybe if you messed around with adding special effects to their feet, you could figure something out?

Evil Illidans footprints are a doodad. They are placed using triggers and timers.

He still leaves them behind without triggers, none the less. I believe its a part of his model + animations. And this holds true with all units, AFAIK

what if u just made a custom unit and based it off illidan?. I was planning on looking in the war3.mpq for some text that would let me alter the pathing for the doodads of his footprints. I wanted to make it so furion left behind little plants :-D

LoL. Even if you based it off of him, your unit wouldn't have the footprints. Its a part of Illidan's model. If you wanted to, you could edit the model, but that's just a waste of time for so little a feature.

That won't work, I've tried it. If you make a custom Evil Illidan, and replace the model, the Footprints will not show up, further prooving the fact that the footprints are part of the Illidan model.

this is a unit editable field, but we dont think it can be added for bnet games, it can be changed for single player missions though.
