Duragal's Mansion Project Staff Needed

MysticGeneral
Ok, I don't have enough people helping on my map to finish by the end of the millenium. Lol... I need some staff, of any kind. I'll note the levels that should be to do the particular job I need. These are the levels range: Intermediate - Expert + Jass.
Intermediate
Advanced
Red
JASS Knowledge

Here we go, this is what I need:
Camera and Keyboard Movement Designers
Item System Designers
Battle System Designers
House Triggerers
Unit Speech Triggers
JASS Spell Enhancer (Or red for regular triggering)
Highly Skilled Terrain Artists
Object Manager Modifier
Misc. Triggers
Voice Actors

Ok, some of you are wondering... Movement Designer? It's just temporary... I have the keyboard working now, just gotta smoothen out movement (they hop sometimes). So, I needa find someone to smooth it. Now, here's an explanation of some of them.

The Item system will use the 6 hero item slots, but in a different manner to allow more items... Much more items.

The Battle System TB ATB (Turn-Based Active Time Battle). I don't have any trigger for it yet, nor do I have plans on how to set it up yet. Any suggestions would be nice.

House Triggers are... Well, probably the most time-consuming part. In the RPG, every house is openable, either by key, or just entering. Now, it might seem like much, since the whole map is a town, (No, the entire "game" itself is not a town) there are houses everywhere. But there is a way to shortcut the terrain use. (Not sure about the triggers...) So, I'll require at least 5 of these guys.

Unit Speech Triggers are just as hard as the house. I plan on having everyone able to talk to. I might not, since it might seem a little... difficult, but anyways, whenever you press the action command near a guy you're facing, it will bring up a dialog, with the title of his name, and buttons to bring up main convo's. (Like D2 kinda...)

Misc. Triggers would be other triggers that need to be implemented. Triggers that don't relate to the other ones.

Ok, I'll give the summary of the storyline at the end of this thing. This is how I plan on organizing the staff. For each group, (Item system, battle system), I'll seperate them into teams. This team will organize themselves, and work on seperate areas of the map. They will but it all together on the 19th of every month, and the following day, all teams leaders will present the map to me, and I'll stick the whole map together, and give it to you guys again. (That way you don't stick the whole thing at once, causing disaster)

If any questions remain... Ask. To Apply because of my well management, send me an e-mail at [email protected] with samples (or just one sample...) or maps that YOU have made. (Screenshots too)

Ok, here's the summary of the storyline (Not might be exciting how I'm gonna say this):

[color=blue]17 years ago, you were a kid, your older brother always hung out with you. You were real close, then one day, the town's army had to go fight an evil army, and you dad had to go help. So before he left, he gave you a medallion and your brother a sword of great strength. The next day, you hear that your father was killed. You get furious, you get mad at the killer... Then, you later find out that Duragal was the man behind the army. He orders his troops to take children that look strong, and put them in his army. He likes this town, and builds a mansion in it. Weeks later, evil presences appear, ghouls, ghosts, living dead, and all these other creatures. Dark clouds then start hovering about the town, making it always dark. Later, you find out that Duragal is a mad scientist, and he's the one responsible for this evil lurking about. So, you swear revenge for your father, and the town, get some friends, beef yourself up, 17 years later, viola! So, 17 years after he took over Mandaville (or whatever we/you plan on calling the town) he gets bored, and decides to take out another town, but luckily, your there to stop him. The story is completely non-linear from there. You could meet your brother, you could not. He might die, he might not. He might become Duragal's 2nd hand, and you'll him last, you might not. I dunno, lol. Completely non-linear, k? You could save the other towns, you might not... You'll under go puzzles, quests, battles and mazes. Not only is this an RPG, but it is an Open RPG (cause of the linear storyline), and it's a puzzle-type map, maze map, and a TBS map. BTW, I plan on making this game non-linear with DAYS, and what you do in the town to affect your positioning. Me explain if you apply. (full explanation on plans)

EDIT: Sorry, I din mean linear, I meant non-linear.

Still got questions tho? Ask any here, e-mail me at [email protected], IM me at FilipinoBoogyMan or Mystic@Azeroth. Apply by e-mail or b.net plz. Flame me if you want...

EDIT: Ok, this map isn't as complicated as you may think, the only complicated part is probably the storyline's non-linear part... And maybe the battle system if you're new to making battle systems. I'm going to stop accepting ppl after September 5th.

I allready made an ATB battle system testmap. Look at the attachment. Well I am good at terrain designing too, but I am looking for staff too. (Well for a long RPG like mine will be, I will never get to an end alone ...)

BTW: The way you are talking to the npcs is bad. Better use a good and useful dialog system by right-clicking on them.
(I can send you a testmap of that system too.)
The advantages are easy:
- slower reading players have more time to read
- faster reading players or players that know the content can click them away
- you can insert multiple choice

To the storyline: Well the story is kinda boring. You go to the army, your family gets killed and you want revenge. ...
And that's everything!
You should better look for a new story; this one is too b-movie style!

Check my ATB system. I don't have webspace, so I can't show you some of my terraining skills, but I can promise you it's nearly the same as in kaliron. (Well with those new doodads it isn't really difficult to make awesome terrain ... ;) )

Check this thread if you want to know more about my testmap:

Sorry, din see those creep enemies, just thought the enemy was blue... But, very nice system. If you could, when you start working on the map, could you make it when the guy attacks them, move him back to where he was? Same with the enemies?

Simply walk near the enemies? ...:ggani:

Just read the thread i linked, then you will understand!

Edit: I will attach one screenshot of my current rpg in every post so you can check my rpg-making skills ...

Edit2: Of course I could. That's not really difficult. The hardest plot with making those triggers is allready done. There are only problems left with the death triggers (Which isn't really a difficult probpem either) and the copiing (Well You need very much triggers for every player).

Some basic things to place new enemies with my system:
- the enemy groups must be neutral passive at start (Well I actually can change this to another player. Would be no problem)
- the creeps must be together (If there is more than a preset distance of all creeps to each other the triggers won't insert the distand enemies to the battle. This acutally is again not really a problem, because I can increase the distance with some changes.)
The advantages: You don't need to set regions for each fight!

Mmm, that's a nice screenshot. Can you work under a different type of camera mode? Where the camera is right behind the player? (Camera 1 distance to target is 200, Camera 2 is 100, Camera 3 is 100 with 200 offset) And with the angle of attack 360? >.> Cause that's the current settings.

In my map is used a free rotatable and zoomable 3rd person camera. If you want me I insert this function to your map, too.

PS: Look up the old posts of my, because i edited something you might not have read till now ... >_>

Mmmm. Sounds good. But, the 3rd person camera, like the one with the DH screenshot? Sure, you can make that a 4th camera, but nothing that shows overhead too much. That'll ruin elements of surprise. And make the camera hard to use the mouse, so they're forced to use the keyboard.

EDIT: We should plan this stuff later. Not now though. Add me to your AIM. I'm Mystic@Azeroth as well.

Well the DH screenshot is currently a cinematic; but the Jaina screenshot is an ingame-scene.
You can only zoom out the camera between to bounds: minimum is 350, maximum is 700. My camera height-angles are 330, 340 and 350.

PS: Look up here for the story of my rpg; It isn't really of interest here, but maybe you join my project, instead of working on yours ... >_>

Maybe I insert my ATB-battlesystem there, too.
(It would kill much problems with anoying cameras, etc. ...)

Sure, let me finish up this game tho.

Hmm; maybe you post some screenshots of your map; so I can see wether your map is worth to be mapper there, too ... ;)

If you decide to use my ATB-system, then give me a copy of your map. I will complete the system and insert it. (This could take some weeks; but it makes your map really special!)
The advantages of the system: Nearly all spells can be triggered and at the end it plays like final fantasy; and that's for sure no bad game!

PS: I have to go to Teakwondo-training now. I write back this evening.

Ok, but I have terrain little done... Cause I been working on camera, fixing keyboard controls, and smoothing out units. Me gonna take a SS of it now.

EDIT: Here, just took this now... Terrain is obviously not finished. I changed the camera to a further view.

EDIT: Ok, sorry, there's barely a scenery, but I had like 20 minutes to work on it, so all I did was setup a small thing, to get a general idea on what I should try and get.

I'm in a high need for staff right now, anyone else? (especially for the house triggers)

I am back earlier than I thought, because the gym is currently closed and we only ran an hour around the lake ...
stamina training suuuuuucks ... ¬_¬

Errrm; even for 20 minutes this terrain is pretty ugly ... O_o

The screenshot down there shows the npc-dialog-system:

I was thinking something like that, but a bit more complex. Where dialog buttons would be created for different topics. Like if you got a quest "Find the forging hammer" it'll add a dialog button called "Forging Hammer" to some people. Stuff like that. I'm not a good terrain artist. I'm good with cinematics, idea creation, trigger thinking and triggering.

I can handle your terraining, if you want me.

To my dialog-box: Well this is one of the 'reminders'.
Talon allready said what is important in the intro-cinematic, so when you click on him, he will only remind you what to do. (I could have had delete this dialog too, but I wanted every NPC there to talk with the heroes if they want to.
If you click on a dog, it says 'arf'.
If you click on a signpost, you can read what is written there.
If you click on a standart-peasant he will randomly choose from 10 preset comments. Some are jokes; some are secrets and some are just stupid ...

I made the triggers that I can easily put in new ones without having to make new triggers. I simply have to write the text displayed and the number of following messages such as the text displayed in the following messages and everything works fine.
(To make multiple choice answers, which I will also add ÃÂ*n important conversations, I have to use new triggers, but that's not that bad.)
