Photo Realism, has it been done?

Spetsnaz101	Has anybody here tried to take parts of photos and stick them onto skins? I think this might look cool... I am going to try and do it, but it will be bloody hard to find real photos proportional to skins...

Ionio	It'll either look great, or.. err.. terrible. There has to be a first time for everything. It's an original idea - you could have celebraties faces on peasants, a gnoll with Hitler's face, or Arnie the beastmaster. Yeah, the proportions etc will be hard, if you're using photoshop can you use mesh deforming toll thingy (can't remember the name)? Good luck with your experiments! :D

KDEWolf	I don't think thi has been tried before, but know that most of blizzard model's don't have a good wrapping and you might have to change it even drastically to fit the wrapping. You can take your try, sure.

No, Diabolis Interium uses double and triple resolutions skins (what make huge files and need of top-end computers), but not actual photos digitalized. Those are like Return To Castle Wolfenstein, the id team took tons of photos throughout European continent, and then digitalized them and used as textures. That would be photo realistic.

Electromancer	God damn. Would you all leave him alone? And that is photo-realistic. Even if its from a different picture, thats what Maha was talking about, cutting something from a picture. And as ive said before, dont insult people. Insulting mav is the same as insulting anyone else. Just dont.

Perethor	yeah im sick of KDE constantly goign around like hes god. Im relatively new here and I already noticed that. Not to start a flame war, of course =/ KDE rocks at skinning, but there is definatly NOTHING wrong with Diabolis Internum skins.
