Which one do you prefer? I want to start skinning, but I need a program first. :ggani: I've used Photoshop a bit. Also, does anybody know where I can legally get Photoshop a lot cheaper then $600? Is it true college students canget it for like $50? |

Photoshop has better brushes and effects, but PSP has better layer system and it's easier to use in my opinion... I use both... - But if you just learn how to use either one, you can get same effects as other one... |

I use photoshop because I got it first and learned more about it (Even though I know pretty much jack shit about it) but I still don't fully understand PSP. I'd pick 1 and master it, don't use both. |

I use photoshop it's a little harder to use but it's better overall. The difference isn't big enough to make a bad skin a good skin, if you see what i mean emote_confused You can get Photoshop much cheaper if you are a student, that's how i got it through my school. Another program which is good is Photopro (sorry if i'm just confusing u more). you can get it quite cheap - there are free downloads of the older versions but they don't do .tga. It's similar to Photoshop but interface is better, and it has more features - i don't know whether it has any significant features that the other's don't, but it's another possibility. I've used all 3 because i'm a english student doing a GCSE (exams we do at 16) in graphic design. Hope that helped :ggani: |

Is this just through college, or through high school and stuff too? I'm a sophmore, so I don't know if it would apply to me, but I have plenty of cousins I could talk into getting it for me :ggani: . Do you know if you have to be in some sort of computer art class or not, and how much does it cost through the school? And yes, I know what you mean by not making "bad skins." Thanx to everyone for responding. I was thinking I'd prefer Photoshop, just because its 10 times as expensive of Paint Shop, which would prolly mean its also overall better at stuff. |

I'm not sure what age you need to be to get it cheaper. You could try to email them and ask - customer service ppl are usually very helpful. I'm not in the U.S. and I don't know how your education system works, if you're too old to get it cheap then get your cousin to get it. In England it costs ~ £500 (I think that's about $700-800), but if you're eligible for the lower price it's £30-50 ($50-80). I don't know whether you have to be in a computer related class, if you do then you can always lie... :ggani: Photoshop is better, it is designed for editing photos after all. Good luck |
