Guest | im not sure its possible, i beleave so, why dont you try? that said, were the horn is removed will rest a hole in the skin, so eventually youll need a model edit to make it look clean |

well ive seen this done on other skins like the predator skin and evil unmounted arthas without book as parts of the skin have been made invisble yet when i alpha somthing out it , it makes it a team colour insted of invisible. so i know i can be done does anyone know how? im using photo shop 7 |

Guest | youve done all that is possible for the skinning side, youll need to get a modified model to get it to work as you desire cos that area of the model is either horn or team color. |

no i have an arthas skin that fits on a normal paladin wielding frostmorne model that makes the book the paladins carrying invisible and does not require an altered model and when i load the skin up in photoshop the book is alpahed out but i dont know what different has been done to make it invisible, so i know it can be done just dont know how |

Guest | trust me m8. some -areas- of a model are used for team colors, some arent. the book of arthas is on an area of the model that isnt team color therefore it can be removed. your horn in question is on team color, you cant remove it without model edits |

the horn on the ogre is not a team colour part so therefore it should be the same as the book, so how would the book be removed? |

The book is removed by alphaing out the appropriate portions of the skin. That's it. If you've tried doing this for the horn and it became the team color, then you cannot remove the horn without editing the model. If you have not tried this, do so. When you alpha something out and it becomes the team color, that simply means that that portion of the model is the team color. |

well i have found that if i alpha black on units that have a black background i can make weopons dissapear but the ogre has a grey background does this mean i have to alpha in grey to make it invisible? if that is the case how do i make the colour match the background as i can only seem to alpha in black or white im using photoshop 7 with tga plugin sorry for all questions but im new to skinning and there not a tutorial that really covers this |

The background color is irrelevant. In the alpha layer, black means that portion of the skin is transparent, white means that it is opaque. |

i have alphaed the right part of the skin, i know how to alpha out it just wont work with a lot of skins and ive read some posts that sat using grey in alpha channles reseolves this but ive tried that aswell and it still makes the horn whit insted of invisible,so could some on please remove this horn if its possible please? its for a lord of the rings cave troll skin its finished but it really need horn removing |

You have not alphaed out the right portion. It's the inverted triangle directly below the club. The attached skin works in the W3Viewer. Try it in the editor. (I don't have my TFT CD handy.) BTW, you probably should redo the face - it looks very weird. |

thanks for trying but nope its exactly the same as when i did it the horn is still there in editor and in game ive read some parts of models cannot be alphared out does anyone know if this is one of those models? |

Well I didn't load it into the game, but from photoshop it looks like you only alphaed 2 of the horn pieces. I'm too tired to dig up the skin path and test it in game right now, but I would alpha all 4 of those horn pieces and check again to test. If it still shows team color then ya it will take a model edit. |
