im having exactly the same problem, but i know its possible as ive have 2 skins where it has been done, i thinks you can only do it if you have no team colour on the model and edit the alpha channel so its transparent but i dont know how to do it, im using photo shop 7 pleas someone help us

There are two solutions to this: either edit the model with a modelling program, or hex edit the model.

The latter is much easier, and I would do it for you if my hex editing program hadn't expired (yeah, I know, I'm cheap) I can tell you what to change if you have a Hex editing program.

I don't know, it's kind of all confusing to me, but on most skins just coloring grey in the alpha channel seems to take it out, and on other skins, coloring in black seems to alpha things out...hope that helps =\

k, convert the mdx to mdl, then open it with notepad. goto the textures section and look for a textures "" than below it words 'ReplaceableID1' delete that and type in the invisble blp path... (i thk u noe... but i forgotten... i will check later...)

Not to hijack the thread here, but I've been killing myself for an answer. Thanks.

John_Drake, could you please help me with a problem just like this? (It's actually just the opposite of what Fuzzygrunt wants.) I have a hex editing program, too. If you want to help me then here's my original forum post. Thanks.

... Like I said... use notepad to edit the mdl file...

I've tried that, but it's what I'm trying to do that's the problem, not program. I just said that I had a hex editor for John_Drake's knowledge.

uh thanks alfredx_sotn but.... how do i convert it to a mdx or w/e im a complete n00b at models

Go use YobGuls' fileconverter... load the mdx then convert it to mdl, then edit it... then save, after that convert back using the same program... Btw, Im also new to modelling... the helicopter in my avatar is an example of suck my work is...
