Ok, Juvat and me are startin up a fallout 2 single player mod that basically recreates the fallout 2 game. This will require not really knowledge of the game (although it would help) but would require a very trigger able person. They would be able to need to do the Blizzard Orc campaign style of connected maps (i know its possible) and would have to program dialougue menu's for plenty of things. That among other things So u think ur up to the challenge, we sure as hell hope u are so plz reply with an offer |

Hey, I know how to make dialogue menus really well, but i have no idea what fallout is. No clue what you mean by 'connected' maps but if you explain it to me i can probably help you. I'll check this post later, or you can just PM me. |

ok cool, we arent limiting this to one person, so well be happy to have u as a dialougue menu guy. I take it you are pretty proficient at taking variables and adding them to the dialougue boxes, and are u good at making leaderboards too? Not like kill count, but like information like perception, intelligence, hp, ap, stuff like that. ANd have u played the orc campaign in Frozen Throne. The maps are connected through locations, and when u go into one it brings u to the next map, and there is basically one main map where different locations lead to another map. and whatever u do on one map is stored and u can come back to it, and everything carries thru. oh ya: fallout, is an rpg that is turn based when u get into combat, u can walk around and **** but once u get into combat, it initiates right there, and u have a certain amount of action points to move around, shoot make targetted shots and stuff. THe game is unbelievably open ended and should be tried. Fallout and Fallout 2 are both kinda old but i mean, its all graphic and the graphics arent bad at all. U should try them, even if u end up not wanting to help us. Ive played a hell of a lot of games, and the fallouts are still my favorite. Its like one of those games where ur like "hm.... i dont have a key, however, i do have a rocket launcher, so im gonna blow this door to hell" Its based after a nuclear war and has a good mix of every type of weapon, modern to future, melee, to sniper, throwing knives, to submachine guns, to flamethrowers, to pulse rifles. Its not linear and u can do whatever. I would suggest playing fallout 1 first (i didnt) because there is a lot of relationships between them. I wish i did but i was young....and stupid.... |

Fallout is a very popular RPG that was made by Interplay/Black Isle around '95 or so. Fallout 2 soon came out, I think a year or two later. They are both excellent, but Fallout 2 has the longest story, and is the best of the two, IMO. Here is the story behind Fallout: In the year 2077, a large nuclear war happened. Almost all life was wiped from the planet, except for a few countries who managed to survive. The story takes place in the USA. The USA had been prepared and had created large underground 'vaults' to keep people safe from the radiation. After the war ended, the vaults were oppened, and the inhabitants exited and used their standard Vault-Tec GECK (Garden of Eden Creation Kit) to fertilize the soil and soforth so that plant life could grow again. In Fallout, your Vault (Vault 13)'s Water Purifications Chip has broken (I made a very sucky map about it once), and you must leave the vault to find another. Then, once you have found it, you must destroy the Mutants. They are products of the FEV virus, a very powerful biological weapon that was being developed before the war started. Think Resident-Evil style. Anyway, these mutants, which resemble one-headed Ogres in a way, are being created by the 'Master', a highly mutated being. I don't know the story behind him, but he's very ugly, and is barely human. Anyways, once he is destroyed, then you return to your vault and... *spoiler* ... you are banished from it by the Overseer, because he feels that the children will want to be like you and venture into the wastes as well, which would mean the death of the Vault. This is where Fallout ends. Then, in Fallout 2, you are a tribes man of a tribe that lives in Arroyo, because when the 'Vault Dweller' was banished from Vault 13, he journeyed North and found that place. So, about a hundred years later, you are to find a GECK for your village, because they are dying from radiation sickness and soforth. Once you have found the GECK in.... *spoiler* Vault 13, then you find that the Enclave, a rising millitary division of the 'old government' has captured your village. You must then travel to the Enclave oil rig and save them. If you want to know more of the Enclave, it is, as I said, a new branch of the 'old government', meaning that they have a president of the USA leading them. However, the prez is convinced that all people from the mainlands are mutants, because the little radiation from over the years has mutated the genes and DNA, and must be eliminated. He is using a mutated form of the FEV virus to kill all slightly mutated humans on the planet, via releasing it into the jetstream, high in the air. The Fallout and Fallout 2 story is very interesting, but isn't limited. There are many side-quests that are awesome, and many cities that you may recognize as well, such as 'New Reno' and San Fansisco, and many other cities that have had their names changed, like Necropolis in Fallout is some city called Hillsburg or something like that...
