Question

I have a question about your mod. If I recall correctly, I remember hearing that this mod made it possible that people could connect mid-game and allow more players then 12. Is this true? If so, do you plan on releasing this specific engine to the public? Think of the possibilities! People could make online RPGs from Warcraft! People could also host HUGE maps (Talking multiple times the TFT normal umodded 256x256) and host strategy tournmanets on these gargantuan maps. And if you DID manage to make a system like that... allow me to congratulate you now, because that is quite the acomplishment, I tip my hat to your team.

Yes, the program will allow connecting mid-game and will allow more than 12 players, but the engine wont be released to the public (at least the source) as far as i know, for you see, this engine transforms a singleplayer game into multiplayer and it sends and recieves packets of info, telling war3 where unit x is and what's it's stats, so for each unit type we have, we have to create a new sending protocol, which would render most rpg's unusable (creeps wouldn't work for example).

Killer927 has it right on the dot. The control programon syncs info that we tell it to, and that the engine places into the array. So rpg's are pretty much out of the question with the fps mod engine and control program. If u wanna make a mmorpg your going to have to write your own control program, not like its hard to do if you know what your doing...

Hydra, stoned isn't the best coder in the planet, else, he would have made a software house for himself already. :p

The only things ya need to know to be able to create something like this is knowledge in using sockets, memory allocations and memory accessing then join all this together. :p
