Whats a good program for making movies (i.e. recond a war3 cin and make it an avi)

The trailer for TTOA is going to be a movie file. (Prolly avi or something) I just need to know what program should I use for recording it and making it into .avi (or a smaller format if anyone knows much about that kind of stuff)

I would use SnagIt 6 ((http://www.techsmith.com) 30 days trial?) for recording from warcraft 3 and windows movie maker (if you are using xp). ow ow and you could also pick what many different things when saving files with movie maker! like quality for this and that file size

I was gonna ask this same question, because I saw a thread in the Map dev. waaaay back. Except My idea was to save it as a replay, convert it to a QT based movie, like a avi, and edit it with FCP. That was my idea, and you can't do it for a mac. Besides, QT is way more convenient, being the standard. Everyone could watch it that way. But it appears that I'm still stuck making a ****ing map out of it. Damnit!

There's gotta be another way!
