Ok i'm creating a new model and i've done the rought of the torso and the neck, i just extruded parts for the neck from the top of the torso. Now since my torso goes from larger at the top to smaller at the waist i was wondering, do i extrude from the sides to make the arms or do i create the arms seperate from it then just put them close and attach. Which would be easier (also consider i will have to put in bones and do animation). If anyone could answer my question it would be a big help please =) Also i'm just going to extrude the legs from the torso, if there is a better way to do it let me know plz. TY |

Either technique would work, and niether is much better than the other. Personally, I would extrude the arms from the torso. |

Thanks for the input, i ended up making the arm seperate cause i couldn't extrude the right size arm i wanted =p Now trying to mirror it is having me frustrated cause it mirrors on top of it but i can't figure out how to seperate them so i can rotate the mirror and attach everything to the torso and move on to the head then lastly clothes / weapon. This is a rough that i started today, note: this is my very first model and have been using 3dstudiomax for like 2 days now at work =p Hopefully i'll turn this into Chrono. Althrough i'm having trouble trying to figure out how to start the head if anyone could plz help me. Making a sphere won't quite work even if i put enough segments in i still have to elongate it and either i don't know how to do it or i'm sure there is a easier way. Thanks =) |
