Greetings. I've been working on a skin, which required me to make a few minor changes in the MDX file (so minor that I'm not sure this thread is supposed to be in Modeling and Animation rather than the Skinning Forum. Anyway. I've been editing the Assassin skin, removing most of the stuff, including the head in fact. I needed to remove that team color on the flared collar of hers, so I used HexEdit to look for relevant fields. Sure enough, I managed to set something to 00 instead of 02 and when I checked the model in WC3Viewer, it was perfect. My problem is, despite this, when I try to load it in WarEdit, it won't show, and if I place it, the editor complains about the model not being found. I figured it might be some sort of oddity caused by saving the model in HexEdit, so I tried using Yobguls' to convert it back and forth and edit the numbers instead (leading me to more trouble but that's a story for another board) but I haven't been able to check if that worked better (due to aforementioned problems.) I was wondering if someone had any ideas as to what might have caused this problem? The only idea I have is that perhaps it doesn't like the fact that I have, in one fell swoop, removed *all* teamcolor fields on the model..? Many thanks in advance for your time and aid. I got it to work by fooling around somewhat with mdl-editing. I presume the game didn't quite like my clumsy approach to hex editing on pure chance. |
