I can't get any mpq extractor to work

MPQVIEW: I put it in my warcraft3 folder (so it can get to storm.dll) and I choose w3mlistfile.txt as my data file and try to open war3.mpq. I only got (listfile). I am aware there is a listfile.txt that actually works but I can't find it. I downloaded MPQVIEW from wc3campaign.com
WINMPQ: I get overflow error trying to open wc3.mpq
MDX tranformer can't be installed. the last file is corrupted or protected.

Well, time for you to READ the readme's.
Especially the MPQView one. Get the files again in our download section.
It seems MPQView works fine on your comp, you just don't know how to use it because you didn't read the readme...

I'll try to be nice and I give you a big hint:
w3mlistfile.txt is for w3m files not for war3.mpq.
but the (listfile) you can extract IS the listfile you need to edit war3.mpq...

Get that one, that would help better:
http://war3pub.net/upload/index.php?...mpqview11b.zip

I'm gonna put that one instead in our tool section.

For WinMPQ it can be because you were not using the patched version I made.
It can also crash if you specify a listfile that doesn't exists anymore.
It can also be because you did not install the runtime packs correctly.
Or you got a storm.dll lost in your windows or windows\system directories. Or even a staredit.dll/.exe lost somewhere in you windows dir or in you "program files\common files" dir.
Read the readme that comes with the WinMPQ Pack I made -unless Skull did post the pack without the readme!-. I'll check the WinMPQ available for downloads in our tools section because it seems that a few tools were not "messed up" (Map protector had his readme file removed, wrong version of my map editor, incomplete MPQView, a few other broken links... )
