Invisible Bridge

What's the best way to create an invisible bridge?

I've tried using a trigger to hide an existing bridge, but when you walk across it your character walks down and back up the cliff...is there a way to work around that?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

well...u can make a invis bridge with the "force bridge" but making it like...straight (no arc) i really dont know.

the invis bridge can be done by setting all 3 tinting value to 0 and it will be invis.....(well...ALMOST invis, can hardly be seen, onlything left is that there is a lil fog-like thing on the bridge that cannot be removed)

well....there is another way (maybe), may work, may not, there is a straight (Arc-less) type of bridge, but this will involve editing the model

i've never tried this, but couldn't you use the 'invisible platform' doodad, make a bunch of them and raise them to the appropriate height?

I've done it that way before when I was just messing around with WE.

Just use a normal bridge, select it and then move it below ground using the page down key. Last I heard that still works, just don't quote me on it til you tested to make sure ;).

The bridge below ground dont work, the unit still goes down on normal ground(some maps the unit sinks in the ground)

That would be a nice feature (the unit underground thing) for tunnels and ****. Someone should look into that.

Using the Force Bridge with the tinting values at 0 is damn near invisible. I'd like to get rid of the arc (and actually, for my purposes a sagging arc would be better), but if it can't be done, then it can't be done.

Invisible Platform has units walking down the cliff and back up...you can't move them on the Z axis.

Thanks for the help, though...it's much appreciated. Any other ideas?

How about setting transparency to 100%?

There's no setting for that in the object editor for bridges, unfortunately.

Saw this on another board... don't know if it works for destructables/doodads (like bridges) but... in the map init trigger:

Animation - Change Vortex Coloring - Change Unit's Vortex Coloring to (100.00%, 100.00%, 100.00%) with 100.00% transparency.

Would make your bridge transparent.

Nope, no Animation listing in the object editor, much less "Vortex Coloring".

Thanks though, that's not something I would have thought of if it were there. =/

Maybe you missed what I said, I said nothing about the object editor.. TRIGGER! As in Trigger editor, make new action under Map init trigger.

EDIT: I realized after reading this that it sounds like I am trying to be rude. It was not intended that way.

Ah...sorry, my bad.

But that doesn't work either...the bridge is a doodad/destructable instead of a unit.

I've tried making a new unit with the bridge model, but that didn't work either.

did you ever read my post about using 'invisible platform' doodads?

it was the second reply...

step 1: put the invisible platforms across the region you want to be an invisible bridge

step 2: raise the doodads to the appropriate level

step 3: but railing doodads around the invisible bridge so you can't walk off the side
