Im making a spell for a monk type unit called "Bloody Knuckles".... the monk basicly walks up to a unit, a bunch of blood sprays out and it deals damage. The only problem is I need a spell to use for the deal damage that has no built in SFX. I tried finger of death but even from 1 range there is still a nice beam of red lighting, and storm bolt still creats the stun swirl above the units head even when stun time is set to 0. Any clue on a spell I could use?

Make a healing spell that targets enemies, set it to negative number so it does damage, make the distance one, and make target art the blood. Oh btw the colorizer dl you told me to use is currently down =(

That would work but Holy Light has a built in opposite effect on undead units im pretty sure so if I do that he will end up healing undead units for half the damage of the attack.

You can go negative on heal, you just have to set the editor to allow negative fields in the object editor.

If I used heal it would still have the auto-cast portion to it. As far as I have tried there is no way to remove the auto-cast from a spell.

I believe you can. Try setting these to

Text - Order String - Activate : None
Text - Order String - Deactivate : None
Text - Tooltip - Turn Off ( - Extended) : blank (nothing)
Art - Button Position - Turn Off (X) and (Y) : 0
Art - Icon - Turn Off : None

Changing the order stings does nothing, so you can't remove the auto-cast from any ability.

And for an ability, what about stormbolt with a 0 sec duriation?

Set the SFX to whatever you want, and make its AoE 0

I agree with Zoizite on the Frost Nova, but wouldn't an auto-cast ability be interesting with Bloody Knuckles? There are a ton of Special Effects involving blood, and if you did it right, perhaps it could make a pretty bloodbath. :foot:
I'm guessing that if you made it auto cast, they would have to be in melee range to use it, but a monk is almost always melee anywho.

bit of a disadvantage there, cause you can only have 1 frost nova based spell on each hero.

Searing Arrows can be changed to work within melee range only, it targets only one unit without AoE damage, and the art can be easily removed within WE to make room for yours.

Best yet, it's an autocast damage spell, which seems like it'd be desireable. The AI will know what to do with it.
