KDEWolf
Here it comes once more! Better and improved!

To download the latest version of the Warcraft 3 Viewer, and the source code, go there:
http://www.xeberon.net/view.php?id=125
Direct link (not always working, go to the webpage preferentially): http://www.xeberon.net/download.php...raft3viewer.zip
W3V Official Help thread: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...threadid=18440

Changes in v2.2 :
- portrait animations now works perfectly
- glows are now working for all heroes, even in war3x.mpq
- now, if a file is not found in war3x.mpq, it searches for it in war3.mpq (if war3x.mpq is opened, else it is the contrary)
- team colors are now working for static models too
- mesh selection is now repercuted on animations too (we can make very funny things with that)
- all the heroes have now their glows (since for some of them, there was a problem) : if a heroes has not his glow automatically, just toogle the "Hidden geometry" option in the render menu
- a keyboard control has been added : Left/Right and Up/down arrows for rotations, Page up/page down for zoom in/out, and let the control key pushed to accelerate those movements
- MDX and BLP files can be assicated with W3V so that you can double-click on a BLP or a MDX file to open it with W3V; just go to the Render menu, and click on the last item
- some bugs fixed
- all that I have forgotten (not me, TheProphet!)

And please make suggestions requests for the program, we want to improve it more and more, though it's getting so complete we're running out of ideas...

Yes!!! Thanks for fixing the portrait animations before they were screwed up and the mouth and eyes would move like 3 inches around the screen.

You F00L KDE, must be a case of eccentricitiy, hes so smart he cant do normal things such as link in the forums, or maybe hes so dumb he cant link into the forums :ggani:

Very nice job KDEWolf and TheProphet. This is simply amazing! Maybe next version, you can support particle emitters.

Excerpt from a conversation with a friend on ICQ :

TheProphet: I have some problems with some models, such as the human townhall, which loads weirdly, the HeroMountainKing, and some UI\Glues\SinglePlayer\*campaign3d.mdx

TheProphet: for most of them, I have no idea about where the problem could come from

TheProphet: for instance, the HeroMountainKing loads fine, the animations load fine, but it does not work... I don't understand.

Stranger again : the static model works.

Hey, i got a Q. How do i get my treeview thingy back? When i start it up, it doesn't show up and when i hit the treeview on off, it stays gone. Is there any way to get it back?

Yep, there is a mean : launch regedit, go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TheProphet\MDX Viewer" and delete txPos and tyPos. If you are not familiar with the registry, just use the .REG file in the attached .ZIP file.

very nice tool and very good that there is sourcecode available, but i have a question.: while the tool allows to play animations of mdx, i didnt found animation (bone transformation etc.) code in the source. question: did i missed something or is the source code from an older version without animation ?

im very interested in animation source-code of mdl or mdx stuff. i try to write an own mdl-editor but dont get along with the animation (bone-transformation) algorithm :(

I am profoundly sorry, but I am not allowed to distribute the source code of the animation stuff contained in the version 2. The decision does not depend on me; the animation source code has been written in collaboration with another guy, and that other guy does not want to share the source code of the animations for the moment. Sorry.

ok, no problem. hmm i think i make a new thread in the developer forum to ask for such code...

As I have received many mails asking me the source code of the new version 2.2 of the Warcraft 3 Viewer, I have released it, but WITHOUT ANIMATIONS. I am not allowed to share the source code of the animation stuff, so I have released the entire remaining source code. All the animation code has been removed in that release. It compiles and builds without any error, but you won't have animations (I have received mails of people who did not want the animation source code).

You can download it here :

would mails from people, who do want the animation code, change the situation, i.e. allow you to publish that code ?

Well, see the about box : there is an e-mail address of the guy who helped for the animation stuff.
