Here's some simple screens of an RPG map in the works. There are several races to be played as: Treants/Humans/NightElves/BloodElves/Orcs/Undead/Dwarves/Naga. There are also many many classes to choose from and each class has about 3 levels for example for Night Elves there are 3 types of Druids: Druid of Claw/ Druid of Talon/ Druid of Wild. The Druid of Wild is a new female druid that transforms into a wolf. Each Level of a class has special abilities that u can learn. It's quite impresive the freedom u are given in this Map. U can walk through the forest off the path and anywhere u want. The Orb art of the prb spinning around the weapon of the hero has been changed to Buff art on the hands like in the WOW. U can buy special wands /weapons/armor/auras and personalize your hero. I am working on makin the the armor appear on the hero as well. There is up to 12 players a game a dueling arena. Kilidar is a small fortressed town in the middle of a river that splits the Forest of the Spirits form the Plains of the Trolls. There are several items that can be found by completing quests and creeping in the forests and plains certain areas of the map have different creeps for different skill levels You should not access higher leveled areas if u are a learner or a level 1 your should stick to the easier areas till u get enough gold and expierence to improve your hero. Many new Units are : Male Night Elf, Female Druid, Female Blood Mage, Huntress dismounted (can purchase or find in the forests a panther), Treant race with spell casters hunter etc. Armored grunt and Voodoo Witch Doctor of the Forest. Map is soon to come out so keep aneye out cause it is really well made. Also theres a new playable 3rd person view. Working on making the camera follow right behind the back of the player's unit. |

Sounds fun. I was trying to work on the camera angle you're talking about but i haven't figured out how. I can make it turn the way the hero turns but not be really zoomed in yet. |

Either the map is too small or the city is too big, looks VERY short by the map size EDIT: Hurls? I dont mean to be picky but does the archer hurl the arrow or shoot it? |

o agree with hunter0000 the map needs to be way way bigger, try getting WC3MapUtilities and making it like 480x480 (cept you'll need HELLA waypoints cause thats HUGE!) or something bigger than it is now cause right now it likes kinda like 192x192 and that isnt big for a susposed online rpg, or an rpg for that matter. but sofar the screens look nice just needs a bit more terraining and custom icons, try adding coloring, dosent do anything but make text colored, but it wouldnt hurt, infact it makes the map cuter and more presentable...heh oh and pesmerga remember that halo map i made? click the link in my sig... its in public beta:D |

the map looks good but the camera is crap. As it is now, it doesn't seem to turn with the unit and that never works. I can get you a camera that turns but it seems impossible to get turning smooth. Its probably better to use the standard Warcraft3 view, or a view thats the same angle, but nearer the chara. And whatever you do, don't lock the camera on the unit. Its the most annoying thing in the universe! If you dont want to make the map bigger, try sacling everything to 0.5 and make the camera closer. That works wonders and doesn't effect map size. It should take too long is you use the select all command. like i said map looks good and you've obviously put a lot of work into the PC, but the camera as it looks now needs some serious work. |
