does anyone know how to lock the camera to the heroes head? kind of like a first person perspective (ie doom style game play) I have searched the forums... but was unable to find anything. If you know a way to do this or know where to find it let me know. Cheers |

You cant without modding ( see the first person Warcraft mod) howwever you can use third person, and there is even a sample map on this forum that contains a working third person camera |

I've been playing with the camera lately, and I've been able to get an effect that's similar to a First Person Perspective. There's no camera locking involved, so it may not be as smooth as it can be, but it gets better as the Poll Time decreases (.1 is smooth). Basically, just move (pan) the camera to a point with polar offset that is a 700 in front of the hero with an angle that is the facing of the hero, while using an angle of attack that is, say, -5. Then, make the distance to target something like 700. With a 120 FOV, it doesn't look too bad. It's still a cheap hack of a solution, though :P |
