Eternal Darkness Inspired Magick System

I was playing ED the other day and I got an awesome idea for some sort of RPG map.

This map would contain this huge MAGICK system. Basically it runs like the one on Eternal Darkness, with a few twists.

You have Runes, codex's, and scrolls.

Scrolls: Identify the proper runes for the spell.
Codex's: Identify's the runes name with symbol.
Runes: A symbol that put in a power circle forms a spell.

Now the types of runes, in plain english:

Alignment Runes: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. (also secret : spirit)

Target Runes: Self, Enemy, Creature, Area, Cosma (cosmic dimension)

Action Runes: Charge, Release, Remove, Place, Change

Disortion Runes: Scale, Rotate, Dispel, Coagulate (make bigger, or little to big pieces), Disembody (make smaller, or big to little pieces)

The runes would be placed in Power Circles. There would be different ones:

Standard: These have either 3, 5, or 7 slots. They could hold one alignment and one target. Example:

Fire + Self + Charge = Flame Aura
Water + Enemy + Charge + Charge + Release = Water Blast

Multiple Targeting: These have one alignment but can hold up to 3 targets. there are things of 4, 6 and 8.

Example: Spirit + Self + Cosma + Cosma + Charge + Remove + Release + Disembody = Make Self Invisible

Multiple Alignment: These have 2 alignments. They are available in sizes of 5, 7 and 9.

Example:

Fire + Wind + Place + Creature + Change + Scale + Coagulate

= Create Infernal

A type of magick system similar to this but modified a bit so that there are set slots for things (ie. first 2 must be alignment, etc.) coupled with a good entered chat string trigger system thing and you could write in spells to try to make them.

ie. type spellbook too see all your spells, and runes to see all your runes/codex/scroll infos. if you type in a correct spell, (each rune will have a 2 letter symbol, (ie. FFWWPLCRCHSCCO for create infernal)) and by finding new spells, they would be placed on to your spell book, where you could also alias the spells (ie. Create Infernal = CI (so now typing CI makes an infernal))

Wouldnt that be awesome. 2 bad I dont have the free time to make an RPG yet, but hopefully by that time dialog systems etc. will be done and we can see the real pwoer of this awesome mapeditor.
