I gave the spiked carapace skill to a furbolg and he doesn't grow spikes like the crypt lord does. Can anyone tell me how to get him to grow the spikes. Thanks, OxiDe |

Sadly, it would require modding to do that. Some units have a thing called "meshes" that turn on and off depending on the situation (i.e. when i peasant is returning lumber, a mesh turns on to show the little lumber pile on his shoulder) Some buffs resemble spikes and whatnot, but definitly not what your looking for. There is a spiked barricade that looks pretty sharp, and if you were to resize it, and make it float (after making it follow origin) It *MIGHT* and thats a big might, resemble it, should you not want to mod. There is a place on here where people take requests (usually quite gladly) to make things for people, whether it be skins or modeling work, in these forums, so take a look! Happy Mapping! :foot: |

You are correct however this is not the case with the Crypt Lord. The problem you are having is that the Furbold does not have the correct attachment points. Spiked Carapace will add the spikes to any units with the correct attachment points in the model. The spike are actually an ability graphic not a unit graphic in this case. |

you wouldnt happen to have a list of units with acceptable attachment points would you? |

The problem is that it doesn't show up on the furbolg that I attach it to. From what I can tell you have to mod in order to get it to display when you pick the skill. |

Try setting the attachment point to 'origin' or 'chest' instead of rear. |

Could you guys supply some screen shots so I can see where to actually edit this. Sorry I'm a newbie when it comes to some of this stuff. thx |

This is it on the chest. I used Abilities\Spells\Undead\ThornyShield\ThornyShieldTargetChestRight.mdl and Abilities\Spells\Undead\ThornyShield\ThornyShieldTargetChestLeft.mdl The other attatchments just look bad. Well, head actually looked kind of cool, but two of the spikes hung in air so that made it a bad choice. |

Hey, just wanted to bump this to ask the same thing again. It seems the picture that was in the thread is gone. I've tried to put the spiked carapace on the demon hunter, I know I've seen it done before, but I can't get it to work. I've tried both in target attachments for the original ability and the buffs section, and have done chest left, chest right, chest, left, chest, right, hand left, hand right, hand, left, hand, right, etc etc. So what am I doing wrong? |

Make sure that the "art - target attachments" number matches the number of attachments your buff has, and the number of models you specify under "art - target". make sure you use valid attachment point names,I think the demon hunter doesn't have a right and a left chest seperately, only one chest... Make sure the ability uses the buff... I myself had completely different problems, I couldn't get the ability not to display the spikes... |
