So Unprofessional

What has happen with your map contest? Is it alive?

The "wc3campaigns mapping contest" would have ended on 16 August and you would have post the 4 (not 3) winners of your contest.

My surprise is that we're 24 august today and there is any new about the famous contest.

I think this is so unprofessional. It is supposed to be delayed like Rise of Krill (pfffff)?

I think that a site like wc3campaigns would be a little bit more serious, because you have a lot of things (an own campaign, an own mapping contest...) but any of them is fully functional...

Well I was not directly involved in these to project but it's just "bad timing". The guy who are supposed to handle that are not available for the moment. Skull is buzy moving to a new appartment and he needs a new internet access. Krill is arround 65megs and he can't upload it from a cyber cafe. About the map contest, it seems hard to get all the judges at the same time and give the final result.Yes IT IS unprofessionnal but for people who are paid for that. We work for free (do you see any ads on this site?) so don't expect something when you don't pay for it.
I hope you understand there is not only the virtual life in life and there is also the real life. ;)
Things can happen when you don't expect them. Usually the do exactly when you really don't expect/want them to happen!

Anyway, what would it be if we had say that Krill would be released in december and the map contest result will be published in november!? I'm quite sure you would just wait until them without complaining.
The big mistake we (Skull?) made was to "rush the dead lines".
So what? we are not really professionnals since we are not paid and even professionnals do that!

Do you call blizzard unprofessional for releasing Warcraft 3 jeeze I don't know 2 years late (it was suppose to come out chirstmas of 2000)

I agree with you in all the things you say, and I think the real problem was the dead lines that (someone) post.

I said this because there was a lot of people who couldn't submit their maps because that dead line (I read it in a forum), and I think that if you wouldn't mention that dead lines of the mapping contest (and campaign) there would be more people working on their respective projects now.

People saw that their map wouldn't be on time and left their works... You closed the mapping contest on 16 august.

Me too! I just started making a new rpg map, but it probably won't be done for a long time. I think I'll just keep it when I'm done until a map contest comes out.

i want to start a map although i started 1 called the diablo's legend which combined D1 and D2 but you see? the point is , there is too much d map around, some are good while some are like onli hours of work onli so i dun think i will continue on it..
now i am thinking of a rpg and a story plot =)
give me some idea =)
also, i hope that the map contest would not be biased

since not much ppl are able to change the skin, so i hope skin does not consider in part of the marks
thing that are part are story plot , use of spell and animation , the charactor average(mean that all charactor are average out not 1 or 2 are particularly sstrong ).

GonkRaider: So its wrong for zepir to exercise his right of free speech but its ok for everybody else to do it? If you don't like the quality of their work, ignore it and never look in its direction again. It doesn't take much work to avoid going to a website, at least not as much as it takes to go to it. They choose to do the work they do and you choose to view/read/participate in it however you do. Don't like the site? Stop coming/reading/viewing/etc and you wont notice it anymore.

Assuming he thinks he is above free speech is BS. The post wasnt deleted, mikititan's words stayed, and they were even answered by somebody. That doesnt imply at all that he(zepir) or they(those that run the site) think they are in any way above free speech. You are lucky they don't think that way or words such as yours might never have a chance to be read.

k, explain "ether Love it or shutup".. Becuase thats their additude..they want only praise or they ether pull it.. telling me that isnt hindering peoples opinions? explain what it is.Also I dont know if you havent noticed but the critisim They ahve gotten has been recived with that additude. GonkRaider: How do you know their attitude? I frequent this forum and I've never read anything to indicate that what you say is true. Even if it is, this is a private forum which means they can silence whoever they choose here. Seems to me like you want them to shut up and you only apply that right of free speach to everybody else but the site owners. If they choose to say love it or shut up, that is their right according to that right you first mentioned. If they actually do anything about it that is a little different, but just saying"love it or shut up" is not any worse than mikititan calling it unprofessional - its part of that right you keep mentioning. It might offend you, but that is your problem.
Going around a forum and getting mad when somebody says something, claiming it violates free speach is total BS. They might want people to like their site. Good for them, if I did all the hard work I would want that too. But, as I said in my other post, they let you post here so obviously they arent trying to silence criticism. Trying to make people realize that maintaining a real website is a lot of work when you don't get paid for it is not the same thing as silencing criticism.

Making two posts isnt going around buddy,and about its also their right to say love or shutup..well thats true.. doesnt mean we have to accept it tho. People shouldnt put up with bullys.And as for its obvious they dont want to silence people who have conflicting views.. i've noticed many posts being edited by the admin..posts which shared the same views as my self I've read around alittle before i posted this =) I know because i've seen a few responces which have indeed been layered with said additude from before.Just because you havent doesnt mean I havent ether..Things that you havent seen exsist

I'm not just a moderator, I'm someone who's beginning to get sick of poorly constructed arguments complaining about things offered for free by people in their spare time for others enjoyment.

p.s I'd just like to say Its been established that The powers that be to the said projects i brought up have applogized, So my argument isnt with them but with those who defended something that was applogized for.. how does it feel to back something htat was apprently wrong.Blind faith just makes you seem like a fool now
