this is probably a stupid question... but how do you add color to the game - text? like the quest info, and hints and stuff?

The easiest way is the color utility found in the download section here.

Colors are allways set via RGB-code.

Simply type |cXXXXXXXX in front of the text you want to color. (Of course you have to replace the 'XX' by hex-decimal-code [00 to FF])
To reset the color back to the default value use |r

PS: The code to place a return key is |n. Maybe this is useful for you, too. :D

A program for making single and gradient colour texts. Also contains the 12 player colours:

Wow, good program. Like pen, I was using the decimal grades...Boy what a hassle. Thx a bunch! :foot:

Plus, it's such a small app, you can easily run it while running WE. (Technically, I'm running B.Net (WC3), WE, and this at the same time, but this is still really easy to run...)

If you need something like this ...

But why using this program if I can set colors by simply typing 8 numbers? O_o

It's faster to pick a colour from the palette unless you're uber-1337 at making up ARGB colours by yourself. And making gradient colours by hand is not so funny ^^.
