Frequently Asked Questions

What is TTOA?

TTOA (The Tale of Archon) is a large scale cinematic project designed to bring you several hours of entertainment. It will feature an entirely new world, characters, and a plethora of new skins and models.

What is a cinematic project?

A cinematic project is a series of Warcraft III maps composed entirely of cinematics. A cinematic project is basically like a movie series, you don't get to play, but you get to watch.

How will TTOA differ from other cinematics?

TTOA will have many new and innovative ideas. Not only does it take place in a world 100% of my creation, but it features many never before seen skins & models. Almost every piece of art you see in TTOA is modified in some way. The locations in which TTOA takes place are very well developed; there is as much activity in the background as in the foreground. Another feature in TTOA is the battles. The battles are quite large scale, yet they run fairly lag free on lower end computers. TTOA's battles are very dynamic due to the use of carefully timed animations, articulate triggers, and exuberant special effects.

When will it be released?

The project is now cancelled, so nothing new will be coming. Chapter 1 & 2 are currently available for download in the downloads section however, and I am in the progress of writing a TTOA Book.

How many maps will TTOA be?

I currently plan on it being 12 maps (chapters). The chapter lengths vary quite a bit, but average around 10-12 minutes each.

Will it feature new models and skins?

Yes, TTOA will feature many new skins, and several new models as well. The team is hard at work on providing you with a whole new fresh experience!

Will you release any of the models and skins?

There are a few I have released in the downloads section. I will release anything that I don't end up using, as well as slightly modified earlier versions of some of the skins.

Will it feature new music?

TTOA will not have its own unique soundtrack (though I will most likely have a theme composed for it, and perhaps a few other songs), however it will feature beautiful music by artists such as Justin R. Durban, Jeremy Soule, and Hans Zimmer.

How big will it be (MB size)

Each individual map will average 20-30 MB. The final product will most likely be around 200 MB.

Will it have voice acting?

Of course, though the beta versions of Chapter 1 & 2 do not have voice acting, the final product will.

Lol.

I'm working on the terrain of part 2, and I'll start the cinematic part soon. I gotta finish up a skin or two, finish importing a few things into the map, etc...
I've been taking a break for the past few days, so back to work :ggani:

Hey iron_ian, just wondering:

How long have you been working on "The tale of Archon" project so far?

I just saw "The tale of Archon" Part 1 and it was very inspiring:D

Thank you :D
I've been working on TTOA for about - 5 months now (7 or 8 of skinning/War3 concept, and about 1 1/2 years for the storyline)
Part 1 was started in late July.
I was skinning and stuff, and making the concept b4 that.

By tommorow is what I was shooting for, prolly gonna take 2 or 3 more days though. I should have all beta errors fixed by then though.

Pt. 2 won't be out for a hella long time. But a juicy 1-2 minute long trailer of 2 and 3 will be released when I'm a little ways into part 3. So in about a month, I'll have a trailer probably. And I'll release some screenies before that too. And hopefully a huge storyline/background info update.

I work for Reverie Entertainment though, and we are going to be working hard on a tech demo for the next month, so all that might not go as planned. But I promise something will be out soon. Tommorow is my last day of break and I will be extremely depressed. Usually when that happens I go into freak-out mode and do all the work I can on my projects (in this case TTOA) So if I can get around to it, I'll try to get part of the storyline update out tommorow night.
