For just a basic type of Footman Wars map, there's always lag when a hero is finished training. Anyone have an explanation to why that happens? I would have ran a search on it, but "lag" is 3 characters, and you need 4 characters to search for it. =\ |

Try searching for lag* |

Perhaps because on a foots map, the heroes exeed the lvl 10 limit, causing higher spell buffs (some of the spells in the footman wars maps are jsut begging for lag) i.e. the Paladin's final lvl up for ressurect raises 999 friendly units.....As you can imagine, this causes a little too much for some comps. Not to mention, the death knight uses the animate dead, which raises 999 units, including other people's dead! Heroes are usually more polyed, more detailed, and generate more code in particular, considering thier abilities are sometimes passive. I doubt that this would be a problem though... Otherwise, your comp might just suck.... lol Hey it happens :foot: Happy Mapping! :ggani: p.s. when searching for things under 4, just use a space. In case that isn't what coffiene meant, of course. :gsmile: |

Another thing that causes LAG when a custom hero finishes training is the fact that the game has to load the Custom model (even if you only changed it to a model of another unit), so to get around that, give a copy of that hero to "Neutral Passive" and HIDE it somewhere on the map, and use a trigger to Pause that unit at the initialization of the map. That way the Model is loaded when the map is started so no lag because the model does not need to be reloaded. |

^ Only the western hemishere :ggani: Another thing that complicates a map by quite a bit is resizing units....Just for future reference. |

Now it looks like you own 3 earths.....Which isn't neccesarily a bad thing.:ggani: Happy ruling! :foot: p.s. how do you feed a pet that has millions of "parasites"? |
| 09-08-2003, 08:47 PM | #8 |
around 6.1 billion parasites to be exact |

Are you sure its 6.1 billion? Thats the number of people in the world, so I would imagine parasites, being much smaller than us, would be a greater quantity. |

This thread has gone off topic and should prolly be stopped. HarlequinKnight - Don't need to feed it, it survives despite all the parasites.... Pesmerga - Humanity IS the main parasite of this planet....... |
