Would anyone actually play the RPG I'm making? It's an open RPG. It's based on the popular MMORPG called Runescape, at www.runescape.com Many people hate it, and discard it at first because of it's bad graphics, but I've fixed this in WC3.... Anyway... The system features a huge world, the max size in the TFT editor (Epic 256x256). It features skills like mining, smithing, fisihing, cooking, prayer, magic and fighting. It also has many quests, which you can do, and one final quest to complete it. Many of the deatils about the skills are on RuneScape.com, as I'm copying almost exactly. http://www.geocities.com/aharriso56/SS.html Here are some screen shots... Anyway, could people plesae tell me if they would play this or not? |

What is the story? Think the terrain looks a bit...well...lame, I would work on that if I were you. The swamp doesn't look like a swamp at all. And why are the crops surrounded by walls? Just MHO Might want to try it out though, like the fact that you have thoes special skills :) |

There is no story, only quests.... It's supposed to be like RuneScape. I'm not a very good terrain maker, I concentrate more on triggers, and finding extremely complicated ways to make them work without having to learn JASS :ggani: But yes, the whole game is centered around skills. You just wait! If I get enough votes, I might acutally finish the thing, marking my first ever finished project out of about 100! ://// |

Yea the idea is good i just think it might be a bit hard to fit it all into one map and i agree the terrain is not the best, and please compress your images in future |

Why should I compress images? Anyway... It's hard to fit into one map yes, I'm only doing the free side of the RuneScape world, (Does anyone know what I'm talking about) and there will be no where near as many quests as there are in the actual game. It's the max size, I can't get it any bigger, but it's actually looking ok. Some parts are melted together, but all in all it looks almost exactly like the RS map. The wilderness (PvP area) is just little strip at the top of the map though. |

why shud you compress, well maybe because not everyone wants to sit and wait for 2 1mb bmp to load when cud have almost instant jpegs anyway try to make it not as annoying as runescape with the random guards blocking the gate thingy unless you pay and all the other annoying things on runescape |

lol :ggani: That's already in! Sorry! But i'm going to make two versions, a classic, which will be the old runescape, which is what i'm aiming for. Then to kill off time I'll amke a new one with horses and stuff..... and all the other Ideas I thought would be good. Anyway..... Does anyone know how to get around the fact that WE Ulimited won't let me save because it doesn't recognize any of the trigger functions? Is this a bug? |

Hey there, So your making a Runescape RPG too? I started mine a while ago, but I haven't been on the forums to talk about it. I started a while ago but stopped. Recently I worked on it some mroe, but I'm glad another person has started something like this. Runescape is a really great game. Just a few things that I want to suggest when making it. Don't copy all the quests from Runescape, but make a few new ones. Mining and smithing was the 2nd best part of runescape...to me atleast. Skills are what makes or breaks the game, use them well and correctly. And one thing about the swamp picture or what ever (I never knew there was a swamp there) That Hill...Thats high to the extremes. Runescape has unnaturally sloped hills because of the bad/decent graphics engine. You should have gentle rolling hills. Except if you do the Dwarven mine area...which you should make it pointy and jagged. (Noise might work or something) Also don't copy the terrain completely. Looking at the map at runescape.com was good enough for me. Hope your successful. |

Thanks for the encouragment. Maybe we could trade maps? Oh and by the way, I'm not copying the terrain exactly at all. It's close enough but it's not exact. That hill's not supposed to be there, I just thought it looked good. So far, Fishing, and Mining work. I know how to do smithing, and cooking will be, literally -- a peice of cake. Do you have MSN? |

Here are the answers to your questions A. Last night I had to reinstall WC3, and I forgot to relocate some of the maps, that being one of them. B. I don't have MSN. Its good that you have some of the skills done, I hope you keep on working on it. |
