Ok people. A few months ago, we got a LOTR campaign started up, and it was going really well, we had all the team members we needed, everything was going cool, and then the guy hosting us decides to screw up our website. So the whole thing kind of burned out. But now we wanna get back together. This is a callout to any old members of the team, and to anyone who would like to join as a new member. There is a guy called Ninquenor (also known as Heaven) who we have been trying to contact for some time, and he has not responded. He was the key director and mapper in the project, and it would be great if he could come back. Maybe if we get some stuff going again, we could ask him to rejoin and he would consider. He is possibly the best mapper I have ever seen. No jokes. Anyway. Thanks for reading, post here if you want to join Thanks grishy |

the lotr project that grishnakh and i were involved in was probably 20% complete, half the skins and models are done, the maps being created were as accurate to the descriptions by J.R.R Tolkien as could possibly be made and the user interface was underway. The only reason we stopped was because the site hosting us kept wiping the forum. grishnakh forgot to mention that we need people who have vague knowledge of the lotr (books primarily but we are using visuals from the movie) and mappers will need vast knowledge of Tolkien's descriptions (if u saw ninquenor's helms deep you will know why). Thanx |

Theres no need to encourage me Renugaid. Being a friend of grishnakh's i helped him out and watched him contribute to the LOTR mod and at some stage b4 u all disbanded i was planning on joining the mod, which in my opionion i think (based on the level of quality, espescially ninq's work) will turn out to be an excellent re-creation of tolkien's world for the fans, and a fun and exciting campaign for rest. So to who ever is going to take the role in leading the mod, i would be more than happy to join. If you need more ppl to join i can get u a few more, aswell i encourage anyone that has wc3 modding skillz and likes lotr to apply and join this mod, i have seen alot of other LOTR mods, and from the few weeks that i have been watching this mod grow, i can almost guarantee you that none of those mods can even compare to this one, im sure this will turn out to be a fine mod indeed. Why would want me in the modding team? Being in Australia and in the same school as grishnakh it will be fairly easy to communicate the mod with him and you renugaid. My skillz are fairly similar to grishnakh's with varying positives and weaknesses. I can map, trigger, ai,cinematics, basic modeliing and skinning, and ideas generation. And if there is anything that i can't do, i can always learn :p well i hope everthing with the team and the mod works out. thx -shortyXP |

Just a website I used to have from when the project was running. http://www.geocities.com/celluloid_love/maps_mods.html It should give you a basic idea of just a bit of the progress that we had with this campaign. |

Heh heh. It's been what, 6+ months? Man, it's good to see ya'll are still around. Talk about timing...its only been in the last couple of days that I started feeling the urge come back on me to renew work on our War3 Lotr stuff. I dug out my backup CD and started looking at the old screenshots. Helm's Deep. Three is Company. Heh. I'll fire ICQ up later and try and get up with you, Grishnakh. My new website is: http://www.bellsouthpwp.net/~ninquenor Haven't put the War 3 stuff back up yet. I'll give you my email in person. I don't want some stinkin' spider to get it and give it to an ad list. And yes, definitely. Let's get this up and rolling again. Let's do it. I look forward to talking with you guys later! Take care. |

I like the idea, i don't have many skills to offer, but i can do pretty good when it comes to making abilities and units, but my limits are the world editor's:bgrun: |

Woe is me. Just when I get in the mood to resume work, I discover I've lost all my freaking w3m's. I don't know what to say. If any of you managed to snag a copy of 3ic.w3m.... God, I can't imagine trying to redo that map. Somebody talk to me. I've got ICQ going. Message me. Take care. |

W0000000tage!!! I'm so freaking happy right now. To be honest, if you didn't come back, I don't think this project would work at all. I'll speak to you on icq now. |

hey Ninquenor, you do not know how long ive been waiting to get some feedback from you. I messaged you a couple times on icq and you didnt reply so i sorta slacked off for awhile aswell. But now that this school years almost finished im ready to get back to skinning and modelling. Ive got a copy of 3ic and grishys pretty sure hes got it aswell. Shorty and Alex we'll gladly have you on the team. P.S. Heaven we would like you to take charge of this project as its director if u agree. (arcuivie was not nearly good enough to take leadership of such a giant mod/campaign [no offense arcuivie]) ill try and get back gondorian, tiki and sleaker. Thanx |

thx renugaid. Just some thoughts i came up with: I think the break that you guys had from the campaign was good in a way as now Frozen Throne is out and im sure we all have it, which means we have more tools, features and FT units to use for the mod as compared to when we just had wc3. Another thing, ninq ur helms deep is AMAZING!!!, best helms deep map i have ever seen (lol. and its still in development). And ur programming skillz look Fricken good!! which sparked a question in my mind. Do we need to or would it be beneficial to edit the wc3 engine for enhanced needs? Aswell how are we all going to communicate ideas together? i know you hate the boards ninq but wont we need a similar site again? or maybe wc3campaigns could host us a site? just a thought. btw i hope you can get berry2k back, i liked him :p |

Ok guys, just letting you know I've put up a temporary forum for us to discuss things until the project gets going. Here it is: http://lotrproject.proboards12.com/index.cgi |

I'm too leary of new forums. Let's stick to this thread right here for now, and ICQ. I don't have Frozen Throne. Oopsie. Guess I need to pick it up. Shorty, thanks. You don't by chance have a copy, do you? I fear I never leaked a copy of the one with the cool battlements and the caves. Ahhhh! *slap self* *slap self* *slap self* *slap self* ... Before we ask for a site from somebody, let's get something to show. At least a finished Helm's Deep map, and ideally a finished 3IC. Renugaid/Grishnakh, please send me what you have as far as maps. 3IC, Helm's Deep? Geesh, every time I think about it I get a sick feeling in my stomach. Speaking of which, it all happened because of a virus I got on my PC. It infected just about every .exe on both of my HDDs. It was a harmless thing that just appended itself to each .exe. Anyway, I backed up everything to CD and then formatted both drives. That is, I backed up everything except my freaking .w3ms. Even the pictures of the maps! What an idiot I was. I've searched every CD I've got, but there's no .w3ms. *slap self* *slap self* ... I appreciate your vote of confidence in my ability to head this project of ours, but let's just leave it fast and loose for right now. No real "leader". Just a bunch of us hobbyists working together trying to bring our vision to the masses. We'll try and make decisions together, for the good of the project, but my ultimate bottom-line goal is still just to make something I'll enjoy. If somebody else enjoys it too, that's great. If not then I'm still happy. :) Meanwhile, I need to purchase TFT and see what we've got of the maps. I've a feeling I'm going to have to start over. Which isn't entirely bad, since I did have some misgivings going with those ICE MERP maps instead of just using raw Tolkien. If/when I start over I'm going to stick to nothing but Tolkien only maps for source material. I wanna' say again how good it is to speak with you guys after all this time. I really look forward to getting back to work! Take care. |

Hi, I am an artist that can skin quite well, and has exxelent knowledge of the LotR series (including the Silmarillion). I was wondering if there was any room on the team, as I have found trouble finding one worth joining? I think you realise that the LotR mod has been done about a million times, so plz lemme know of any ideas that you have been thinking about. I don't have an IM, so if you wanna keep it under wraps or something, so PM me (I'm on quite often). I was wondering if you guys are handing out the projects, then adding it all up into the finished project? Like the skins, are you first getting all the recources first? Happy Mapping! :foot: |

Ok. Ordered TFT. Should get here in 3 days. Harlequin, speaking for myself, it would be great to have you aboard. I know Renugaid (bigmig) has done a bunch of good skins, but that doesn't mean we couldn't use some more. I'll go ahead and put up some shots of my old progress right now. Well, after I fatten myself a little on these Danish Wedding Cookies. Dang. Scrumptuous.... EDIT: Done. http://www.bellsouthpwp.net/~ninquenor/war3.htm EDIT: Dang. Sorry about the long download. I'll try and separate the pics into different pages (i.e., 3IC, Helm, Balrog, etc.) EDIT: I hope no one using dial-up tries to go see those pics...heh. I'll put the wife and kids to bed and whip up some separate pages and thumbs ASAP. EDIT: Ok. Divided it up into three pages at least. Thumbnails later, maybe. Take care. |
