Spellmaker, how did u do the dot damage? I tried looking at your triggers, but they didn't make much sence to me :P Would u take a look at this thread: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...threadid=29240 Thanks :) |

I created the ability "Firewall Damage" based in Permanent Imolation |

Hey spellmaker, I too am working on doign alot of diffrent custom spells but I have had a few problems. Is there any chance that you might be able to send me a PM with a way I can talk to you about diffrent spell effects in like in AIM or MSN that would be great. thanks |

without even opening the map or playing it, i can tell you all how he did the spells: he made a few units that represented the firewall and firecircle. he gave them an absurbly low selection scale, and gave them a customised perminant immolation, for the damage. he make a spell that is null (does nutting) with the icon, and the mana cost and other things spells do. In the triggers, he had an even something like this: events: (a unit) owned by (1-12(one for each player) casts (firewall/firecircle) conditions: actions: create 1 (firewall/firecircle unit) at (cordinate from casting unit with polar offset) repeat above a bunch of times with different cordinates each time (polar offset), then he mad a few finishing things. so, not bad for someone who did'nt actually LOOK at the map, or even PLAY it. Dont get mad if my explanation is not complete, its just a rough hypothesis. -Dark Revenant |

Actually he did it nothing like that.... I tried a way like that afterward and got the same effect basicly. But if you open up his map he has a few variables and math equations making the circle and line. |

@Spell Breaker thx for the info on multi spells via items, I never though of that.(silly me) I might use this feature on one of my heroes..... oh and make sure those items are undroppable =/ @Dark-Reveant thats what I assumed also... Because Me personally is used to use points of offset and dummy units But Das Junk is right, upon opening the map, I realize he used math for the firecircle and firewall Both ways would work; its just that for me, I forgot all of the trigmetry, caluclus stuff long time ago... (I took 5 yrs break after high school =( I think I'll stick to the points of offset. *EDIT* acutally, I take that back, I kinda wished that I remeber all that math stuff, caz I can make better spells this way. (I cannot do spells via jass or moving SFX) All that math stuff would enable me to do the latter if I remebered them.. =( - ByTe.ME uswest |
