There is no way that I know of to have two units with the same model, and have them with different skins. The skin that's used on a model is referred to in the model itself. Therefore, to make a new skin without replacing the old one, you would need to make a new model that refers to the new skin. But, if I understand your post title wrong, and you just want to skin your Demon Hunter and you don't care about the old one, that's easy. Look at a Skinning Tutorial. |

Couldn't you just make a "new" model with the same model as the same guy? |

i think every model has a default skin, and if you edit the default skin, it then uses your edited skin, so if you have 1 DH skin and place 500k DH, they will all have the same skin, so unless you exported the DH skin, imported it over another skin (some useless creep) then import the 2nd DH skin over the same useless creep then it MIGHT work... |

Yes, I assumed it would be understood that the new model was a renamed copy of the old Demon Hunter. Then, you can convert the .mdx model to .mdl using Yobguls converter, open the .mdl in Notepad, and change the path of the skin to something new. Insert your skin into the map at that location, re-convert and insert your "new" model, and you will have two of the same models with different skins. But I digress. I meant it when I said that there are Tutorials about this. |

Make an exact copy of the model, and name is something different. Now use Yobgul's mdx/mdl converted, and convert it to .mdl. Now open it up in notepad and search for the string that shows the name of the skin, and name is something different. Instead of Demon_Hunter.blp, make it Demon_Hunter2.blp or something. Now save this model and convert back to mdx. (Make sure you only do this to the copied model lol) |

sometimes skinning one model with another different model's skin works (but mostly looks a bit wierd) but more often it doesn't. Nothing can be done about this. Use Panto's method if you want to have a demon hunter with a normal skin and a demon hunter with your skin in your map. It works. iv done it. (be aware that having several skins and mdx files imported into your map can drastically increase it's size) |

It is possible, take a look at the Mountain King. It is 1 model with 2 skins. The second skin is used by a different set of animations that are identical to the first set. Althought I think the Demon Hunter already uses a second texture called Black32.blp. |
