I was wondering how you make new skins. Please give me a full tutorial (or a link to one) that first shows how to take already-made skins, as well as how to set up and create ones from scratch. I know they hafta be set up a certain way, but how do you determine that way, and what is it?

Well, for some reason the tutorial sub-forum is gone...In either case, here goes:

First you'll need to go to the downloads, get Warcraft III Viewer. Next, start it up, press on the .blp list, now find the .blp of the unit you want to skin. Next, press on current file > Extract and convert blp. Extract as a .tga and open it up in the image editing program of your choice. Once you do that, skin it to your hearts desire. After you are finished skinning save it as a .tga and no compression, and at 32 somethings...I forgot right now but you'll see what I mean when saving. Once you saved it, go back to warcaft 3 viewer, and press Convert files > Bmp, etc. --> Blp. Now convert you're skin back to a .blp. After you did that, load up WE, import the .blp file into you're map and go back to Warcraft III viewer. Return to the .blp of the original skin and make sure you switch view from tree to list, now it'll say the file path of the skin, so in WE, after you import, double click on custom path, and enter the path you see there. Save your map, restart WE, and done!

Thanks for the help!

BTW, what colors of the skin are transparent?

To make something transparent, you have change the alpha channel in photoshop or similar. Some part cant hardly be "remove" using alpha because of team color(like the paladin cape...) To do this you have to do mdx or mdl(not sure) editing.
