Hum, I've been trying diffeent things to get my map working for over 2 months now, and nothing, I mean nothing is working... Heres my problem... I have a NON-Melee map. I give all of the Computer Players (Player 12) the Wander (Neutral) Ability.. We all know that this should just make them wander around aimlessly, right? well it doesn't! the monsters just sit there, and rarely a unit will move, but it's nothing to get excited about,, he just turns around or something, maybe takes 1 step... Now, getting to my question, I was told there is a way to turn OFF the Built-in Melee A.I. so the units go back to wandering around like normal (In RoC, before TFT was burdened onto the world). I did 'somewhat' find what the guy was talking about, he said "You have to disable the units Guard Position", so I used the trigger; Actions, AI - Ignore the guard positions of all Player 12 (Brown) units didn't work.... I tried; Actions, Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Units owned by Player 12 (Brown)) and do (AI - Ignore (Picked unit)'s guard position) didn't work.... Can anybody PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong here, Why did Blizzard have to 'fix' something that wasn't broken.... Thanks for any help I get,,, (and this is an A.I. problem, please don't just give me a trigger to select all the units and order them to move to random locations.) Dark_Baron_Prot |

Mimic the wander ability. Not much lag involved anyway. Also, the wander ability in TFT seems to be screwed up. It worked in ROC, but my neutrals aren't wandering around in my map either. Not that I care. Maybe you can go see if the ability editor can do anything (it probably can't, but worth a try). Anyway, Mimicking Wander Wander does this - Every random seconds a unit moves to a random point somewhere close to him. So, a trigger mimicking wander is... Event - Every (random number between 1 and 4) seconds Actions - Order random unit in playable map area owned by player 2 to move to random point in range blahblah. (I think there's a trigger asking you to move to random point in range. If not, simply centre a region on the unit and ask the unit to move to random point in region). Triggers work. Even better. If the units are enemies, instead of making them move to, make them PATROL. |
