well now, you surely are one ambitious guy :) Ok, first i must ask, you "made" yourself some buildings and new units....and based on your post count i take it they "would" be in max-format (or whatever model software you use), well, thing is that wc3 like so many other games don't import max format files... I reccomend you to take a look at the many tutorials about model-making/converting and such. Basicly what you would need to do is convert them to wc3's mdx format where they take their skins in another specific format that is ".blp", and then you should be able to import it into WE, but only if you did the model "correctly", did the "right" mdl edits to it (you export a max file into mdl file (a ascii model file) and then convert it to mdx, which is the file type wc3 uses) as when it's in ascii format, you need to edit a few parts of it (mainly concerning texture). Also, the max exporter is not nearly 100% good with animations, and many bone rotations mess up, but i reccomend you to check out the tutorials/forums that belong to model editing. Now if you didn't understand a word of what i just said, then you have been talking about how you would do your own units in world editor...and if that's the case..........then i suggest you to knock your head in the wall 3 times and check out the good "FAQ" on www.battle.net's map making forums. you misunderstood! :( i meant: i want to make a new race thing.. say .. if you can build footmen in your townhall, i have to modify that.. and i want to modify some other things.. but if i want to add a new map to my "mod" thing.-. i have to make all the changes on the townhall again.. or do the custom buildings become saved in the custoum folder for ever.. i thought it only was saved there for the map you are making.. not if you start a new one! :P |

OH, In that case you can easily use the File->Export All Object Data feature in the object editor Then in another map you just import it in the same area in the object-editor. Cubasis |
