How would I make it so when someone types something, their message immediately gets wiped from the screen, so people can't talk to each other? |

There is no way to. I tried using every trigger thats looked like it migh for my map, but it just doesn't work (if im wrong plz say cause i need that trigger(s)) What do you need it for. There maybe a way to make an alternative (like in my map) |

<shrug> Maybe at the beggining tell the players that if they chat all their units will suddenly explode. The event could be "Player X enters ( ) as a sub string". It won't stop them from saying things like "wtf", but they can't actually tell anything of importance (er, unless they shove it into one word). Hmm, maybe you could try setting events that include all the vowels. |

Just use '() as a substring'. That way, whenever they chat it kills all their units! Althoug, it should be pointed out that it's not much fun to actually activally have rules inflicted upon you. And it is sometimes easy enough to press enter by accident, and unless your lucky the only way to get rid of the chat box is to press enter again. (even if i could do it differently, I know i would probably press enter again without thinking) |

If 3526x2's way works, then try that. I wasn't sure WCIII could detect nothing so I didn't say it. Note: I'm assuming you've tried Cinematic- Clear text messages. If not, try it. That might be nicer than killing all their units. |

Killing text messages doen't work. i tried it about 100 times on my map. |

Cinematic - Clear Text Messages will "wipe the text" |

Accually it will only wipe text created by triggers. |

I'm not sure if it works but it is worth a try: Event - Player enters a chat message. Action - Repeat 20 times: Text message to all players: "" This would work if it works the same way as it did in Starcraft (which it probably doesn't, but it's worth a shot). |

Sadly, that method will create trigger-created messages, which will not effect the player's text. |

Thanks, this could really help my map, and maybe alot of other people! :D I'm waiting eagerly. |

Once again, I say, there is no way (unless someone wants to de-compile Warcraft III and do some editing) but this is 1. Illegal and 2. Bloody hard to do. Why they didn't use the starcraft way of doing things is beyond me, but they didn't. Three cheers to Blizzard (sarcastic) |

What happened to the post above mine? Did someone delete it? They did say that they DID know a way.... oh well, I guess I'll just have to make do. |
