I tired of those maps that are always mirrored, this was my great success at making a map which has all four starting points different but yet equal and balanced in some fashion or advantage. Standard Melee Map with great terrian. This is one of my first professional looking maps. Marksmann |

Map looks good and all... but looks ain't everything. Also, tone down on unneccessary doodads... no one needs big waterfalls, lilies and rocks and plants in a place that only air units will ever go to. I see many tactical problems with the "balance" of this map. First, starting positions. Top left position -- nothing much Top right position -- This thing is on a mountain overlooking two chokes. The bridge and a warp gate - the only ways to reach the base.. This base could only be overtaken by maybe an army of chimaera or something. Any ground based army would just DIE. Bottom left position -- Ooooh! A multitude of centuar! A Mass of murlocs! RAZORMANES!! All near the base. One could attack these creeps, retreat, and suddenly find them in your base. No need to say about what happens if your OPPONENT does that. Bottom right position - Nothing much cept for a slight problem in base defense. Then, Creeps Creeps are quite nice and balanced. However, there are some powerful creeps in unacceptable places. I.E. The top right corner. There are two chokes, and one is guarded by horribly powerful group of trolls. The other group of ogres is enough to deter a small force. The top right is almost impossible to rush. Overall, nice terrain and look, but you can bet TillerMaN or something is gonna shout imbalance five minutes into the game. |
