I was starting on a theory I have for a map, and was trying to add a few extra hero skills to a hero. At 5 skills, the WE wouldn't allow me to add more. Is this a hardcoded value? Is it something in metadata which can be edited? Or is it just a weakness in the WE? Thanks, Trick |

Sigh... I hate to bump this, but does anyone have an answer either way please? |

If you could, it would have been done. |

Maybe I need to clarify my question then. I don't want a hero to be able to USE more than 5 skills. Let's face it, not enough boxes on the screen for much more than that without fancy triggers. I just want the option to assign more. Either that, or is there a way to assign skills to a hero at runtime or during game that I'm overlooking? |

Argh I was just going to ask this question. Still no way to get more than 5 hero abilities??? |

You can give him 6 abilities, but you have to delete an other ability. (like patrol or attack ground) But this will delete that ability for ALL units. I think it was mentioned how to do this here. (About the 10th answer) |

Sagan, even if you delete patrol it will not let the hero's skills go over the hard-coded max of 5. You could change this by .DLL editing but I'm pretty sure its illegal (although I don't really think Blizzard would care) and very hard unless you have practise. |

5 hero abilities are the absolute max.. If you're creating a sort of map with a varieity of heroes (perhaps an arena), you can give each hero 4 basic abilities (at the third row), 2 basic abilities (at middle row center), and 1 'ultimate ability' (replace the hero skill button at middle-right.. make sure to set this ability's req level to whatever the max level is. |

You can add more hero abilities with triggers and level them with upgrades, but as there are only 6 free slots its not worth it... |
