It's in the downloads section on the site, at the following link... www.wconline.org/ace_/downloads/MDXTextEdit.rar It's basically the same, with an almost finished texture editor, and I added the faces and normals to the .obj exporter, so it's easier to edit. However, we've noticed that if you modify the model too much that it might turn out different looking in game, because of the scaling animation operation.. Have no fear, the next version will have full texture support, including texture vertex changing for reskining, re-orginizing the bones/moving around the bones, and last but not least, a static doodad loader for creating doodads from scratch. =) Have fun guys... and girls... -Fredric |

Entirely different tools man, it's like the difference between notepad and 3d studio max. |

Guest | I had a few questions about the current limitations of trying to mod mdx. Could I start a new model from the ground up, and then just give it the same number of vertices as an existing unit, or must I modify the unit itself, rather than starting from scratch? Second, I don't think I've been able to import any obj converions of [unit]_portrait.mdx into 3dmax. I'm assuming these are to be used for animated speech in cut scenes. Is this correct, and if so, can they be accessed and how? |

The [name]_portrait.mdx are used for the actual portrait when you click on a unit... Most of the [name]_portrait.mdx will load and convert with my editor. You can make a model from scratch and just have the model have the same polygon count, BUT, the faces will still be connected to the vertices from the original model, and it will look REALLY weird.. -Fredric |
