Guest | I don't care if I wont be bnet compatable...even if I have to edit the .mpq, it doesn't matter to me. I would like to know what to edit, and where to implement it, to get rid of the hero limit and make my own level limit. I've edited the units\miscdata.txt and attempted to add 1 more level by making one more number for exp, grant exp, and default exp on the text. I then imported it into the war3patch.mpq and tried it...it made my start menu really dark and the menus were missing...same when I entered it in the mpq... Anyone know how to edit the levels AND have the game be able to start up the map? I would be forever grateful if anyone can tell me how...itll save me from having to create 50 trigger based levels :) Also...when I modified the Abilitydata.slk and imported it, it crashes when I try to start up my map. Would it be because I tried to make blizzard shoot 1000 times with a .1 cooldown? lol |

Guest | There's a thread over in BlizzForums about modifying the hero level limit. And yes, if you do this, your map won't be battle.net compatible. |

Guest | I did everything posted on that forum regarding hero level modding. All I did was extract the miscdata.txt from the War3Patch.mpq, change the hero level limit to 50 to see if the modification would work. Well...after just modding that, I saved it, imported it back into the War3Patch.mpq...but when I started up War3 the title screen was darkened and the buttons to start up games were gone. Why's this? Anyone know? I want to edit the hero limit for my campaign but still work. |
