Hi all,

I have extracted a couple of units and converted them to 3ds files using the Biturn tool. But when I try to open them in 3dsmax4.2 I get 'Improper File Format' error.

Is there a way to successfully import them??

Thanks,
Ivan

You'll find more help in the modeling form.

I am using your importer but it still nothing works. I'm a total idiot in 3dsmax. All I want is just load the model, so I do the following:

1. Click on utilities, select run script, and select the mdlimport.mse script.
2. Go to File, Import and select the mdl.
3. Error message 'no import module found' and 'improper file format'

I'm sure I'm not doing it right.

What's the right way??

Thanks,
Ivan

that sounds like a problem with your mdl, make sure you converted it with yobguls file converter first

yep it's the same one I have and it still doesn't work.

The thing is... one I click on 'run script' in 3dsmax, what do I have to do next??

there should be a list of check boxes once you select mdl import from the drop down box
