Because it's big, and you can put alot more stuff on it. Edit: It doesn't lag much either if you put fog of war on. |

I must agree with draco, to just create a 256x256 map just for doing it is, kinda pointless... also, to post about it is also kinda uniteresting, but maybe if u told us what u're going to use it for? |

So what. Some of my (pointful) maps have been 256x256 and well-terrained. I'm currently working on a 480x480 one which is about 25% terrained. (Don't worry, this isn't a multiplayer map, its wholy singleplayer). Really, the post you made ought to be counted as Spam. |

A 256 x 256 map without much lag? Is that possible? :bgrun: (Probably if there are hardly any doodads or units I guess...) Anyway, like Milkman said "Tell us where the map is for". (I think more people can make 256x256 maps) |

Ought to be counted as spam? as i see it, it's as much spam as yours... well never mind... This guy just creates a thread where he says; Yes! After 25 hours of terraining it is done!!!!!!! and the topic name I HAVE TERRAINED A 256X256 map... so I asked him what the map is for, a meele map? Or did he just want to make a huge *** map? Terrain for a RPG? and also as he said, the point is that it's big. Ì mean like, wtf? And you cant really mark me as a spammer if you look at the facts; I've been here since Novemeber 2002 and i've made around 200 posts... So you cant say that i post just to add on my post count, which, for me atlest, is the definition for a spammer. |

Sorry if you thought I was talking about you, Milkman, you were making a point. I was saying that Redesh's post should be counted as spam. Its doesn't ell us anything new, its not amazing in any way, or even remotely usefel, and plently of people can make and terrain 256x256 maps. A complete waste of forum space. |

I thought my sig was a good clue to what it was for.... Well anyways here is some information about my map. 2 teams but not allied. Team one is human players. Their goal is to be the first to collect 100000 saltpeter. They can ally, back stab, conquer, negotiate to there way to victory. Team 2 is orcs, goblins, trolls and black orcs. Their goal is to destroy human players and be the only remaining clan left on the map. Units don't appear out of buildings. They are reproduced. Humans can reproduce women, women engineers and men (which can become many types of soldiers and different kinds of workers) Orcs and their counterparts are asexual and can reproduce rapidly but they are very weak and can't train their soldiers. Humans will have to rely on a small well trained army to fight the orcs. That's a very very basic summary of my map. There are a lot of more features. |

Well, why didn't u say that from the very beginning ? =O) well nevermind it sound like a fun idea, maybe not all that different but we all know what happens to thoose maps on b.net... let us know when it's finished |
