I just started making a little mini game, nothing huge. The concept is relly small, you have a archmage who is running forward constantly, you have three lives... you are running down a track and the camera is behind the archmage in thirdperson, tot advanced since he is only running forward and sometimes diagonally, well when u push left he continues to move forward but also he's going left. That is no problem, what i want is that when he comes to close to an obstacle he will lose one life, i think i know how 2 do it with units but i really dont feel like experimenting now... the track will get harder as you proceed down it.. i'm thinking starting with a lower unit speed and increasing it as the mage runs down... also there could be different runes, but they have to look like something else, so you can see which one is which.... runes like, speed(bad) slow(good) or remove obstacle... you can also get bullettime... and extra lives... of course there are bad ones that spawn extra doodads and units... Well, my question is how do you make so that when the unit comes close to any doodad an action takes place... i dont feel like making regions for all the doodad formations and i doubt that that would be the best way,,, so im thankful for any criticism or help |

Sorry but I can't think about anything different than overloading your map with loops and periodic events: Events: Each 1 second(s) ConditionS: Actions: Set Destructible = no unit - Pick every destructible in Region centered at position of Archimage with Size 300 and do multiple actions ---set Destructible = picked destructible If (Destructible not equal to no destructible) then do actions Then - actions Game text message to all players oops! |

Isn't it possible too make a unit group but with doodads instead? like archmage comes within 20 of doodadgroup variable... The system u designed should work... although i dont like loops =) and it would have to be more often than 1 sec EDIT: what do yo think of the game idea? could it be entertaining? |

Unless you create units with doodad models... Ohh that's the thing! I am going to do that for my Tank racing map, Silly me, how I didn't think of that before! |

Hehe, it's been awhile since i used the WE, can u set doodad model easily to a unit... cant remember that u could... Right now i cant use my normal we so im sitting with 1.00 we until monday when i will fixxx it |

doh... nobody has any thought 'bout the complex... and could someone please answear my question, how do u set a doodad model to a unit? |

Well, in TFT you can edit the art - model field and there you can choose anything, but if you have RoC you'll need UMSWE |
