WE Camera Z-Axis Movement?

I can zoom in/out (mousewheel), pan, and rotate, but is there any way to go vertical?

It would be so nice if I could just do something that would make my eyepoint in the editor go straight up/down along the z axis.

If anybody knows how, please tell.

Thanks in advance.

Take care.

In FT you can view the entire map from way up high. You could then zoom in from there, because that view is vertical.

Yah, I realize that. But I was hoping there was a quick and easy way to move straight up/down while preserving your facing.

I know that I can aim straight down and push the forward/back arrows to move down/up (respectively), but then I lose my facing. I'm trying to find a way so that I can position my camera exactly where I want it, then raise/lower the height of the camera.

Surely there's a way?

Take care.

Edit the camera properties by double clicking it in the Camera list window. Change the "Z Offset" number.

Ok, thanks. That's half the issue. That'll work.

But is there a way to dynamically alter my view's z-height in the editor? Sort of like a raise/lower feature? You know, I can move forward/backward and strafe left/right. I can zoom in and out. Sort of everything you can do in a FPS.

But how can I levitate up/down without aiming up or down and going forward/back?

Thanks again.

Take care.

Create two cameras, one with a z-offset of 0 (or some small number), the second everything being the same but with a larger z-offset.

Pan from low camera to the high camera, and you'll be set.

[edit: I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about in the game, but now I see you mean in the editor.

After you edit a camera to have the z-offset you want, view that camera and from then on until you change it, your editor camera will have that z offset.]
